The only thing I am worried about is pulling my hair straight after using dye. I know that dye can alter my texture so I like to DC and let it do it's thing. I am tying to think of way to make that happen and still do the buns

Both the styles are so fabulous!!!! You could do the dailymakeover style first and then pull your hair in the bun the second day. Or you could do it the other way around, like Chrs suggested ... That makes sense about not wanting to pull your hair straight after using dye though.
I guess basically what I'm saying is I don't know which one to choose! lol!

Gotcha. I love to do my buns when damp. Since hair is fragile when wet you could possibly soak it in conditioner to help with dryness due to dye as well as help it look sleek. Not sure if that is a solution but a possible option.

LOL, imagine how I felt when I found 5 gray strands in one area.

I used to dye my hair with the seasons because I would get bored. Now I just want to cover up the grays and also because my hair is growing so I have about 2 inches of black roots and it's driving me bananas.

oh ok! i get bored with my hair too and im already itchin to dye it now but i need to stay in my virgin stage before get my freak on...WITH color that is, lol.

ur roots should blend in well with that color though. thats why i cant lighten my hair too much cuz the dark roots would bother me too. i need somethin thats gonna blend nicely.

PS as long as you used pure henna your hair should be fine.. I colored my hair with Clairol Nice and Easy (brown color) in December and it turned out great! But def do a strand test. O the conditioner that comes in the box is pretty nice as well altho its not really enough lol

Thank you everyone for all the birthday wishes. They are greatly appreciated.

I do not have photos of my new "black" hair yet - I want to post them all after I style my hair. So they will be posted later tonight or sometime this weekend.

I have done one thing...I made a video Very Happy

of my hair's progression through the years. I wanted to show how I was not a child with super long hair but I am growing now as an adult. It is possible. Right now my hair is the longest that it has ever been and this is all because I finally learned how to listen to my hair and give it what it needs to thrive.
