Re: Different oils do different things
Hey Ladies,
I have a question. . . I was reading somewhere about using Aloe Vera Gel, and I bought some |but it wasn't pure, so now I have to send it back | but I don't remember its purpose. Do any of you use aloe vera gel? And if so what for? And on wet or dry hair?
Thanks

I mix about 25% aloe to 75% glycerin and use it for my leave-in on wet hair under whatever styler I'm using. The only time I don't use this leave-in is when I'm doing twists...and I'm not really a twist girl so that is rare...
I have use aloe to mix with other things as well. Here is a good video on aloe...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afk20Y88dgs

I have a question: Is there an oil that provides protein for you hair to mix with coconut oil?

Re: Different oils do different things
Does anyone do pre-poo tretments using just oil? I did this last night for the first time using Uncle Harry's Coconut Oil For Hair which contains: Coconut, olive, hemp, sage, burdock, nettles, lavender, lavendin, lemon, tea tree and rosemary oils.
I left that on my dry hair for about 30 minutes with a plastic cap before shampooing and my hair was incredibly soft and easy to work with. I did condition my hair after...
I'm thinking of making my own pre-poo oil blends, but not sure where to start. I'm thinking coconut oil and hemp seed oil...
What would you use?

I use EVOO, coconut and Castor oil. So far, so good. I gotta do more research before I start branching out with other oils. What does hemp seed oil do?

Hemp seed oil softens my hair a little more than some other oils. Since I use it in my diet, I usually have some stored in my fridge. I'm not sure what else it does for hair.
