Oils Oils and more oils!
SO I went to foodmaxx yesterday to get stuff for a pasta salad (which turned out yummy!) and came out with some ecostyler, sweet almond oil, castor oil and olive oil. (I think i have the PJs!)
Now I have those oils and some cocnut oil and I have NO ideal how to use these items. i know as sealants but is it bad to mix them together and make like an oil sheen??? or mix it with your conditioner????
so far ive been using the coconut oil mixed with shea butter on my hair.

Re: Oils Oils and more oils!
I haven't used Castor Oil or Ecostyler....But I love sweet almond oil! It's so light and I like to apply as a finishing product. It really makes my hair shine. I use Olive Oil in EVERYTHING. No lie. I put it in my deep conditioners, my hair "pomades," my holding cream, etc....I just love that stuff. I am buying bigger and bigger sizes every time I purchase. I wouldn't be shocked if I end up buying the one in the big tin soon, lol
Re: Oils Oils and more oils!
i like to mix castor w/alot of other oils becuz it coats the hair nice n thick and helps my hair stay moisturized longer, esp if i mix it w/the evoo! u cant go wrong w/oils though. experiment and have fun! I also like adding some EO's to the oil mix too cuz it leaves my hair w/a scent!

Re: Oils Oils and more oils!
shea butter helps with dry detangling! If you need to manipulate hair while dry, put in a little shea on the tangles and they will slide out effortlessly!
I use shea butter or coconut oil on the ends on my hair when I'm wearing day 2/3/4....etc hair and too smooth frizzies. Be careful with the coconut oil though....a little goes a long way

i had an all oil mix that i was using....i didn't like the oily hair on my face so i i started mixing the oils w/ other things...like the ladies have already mentioned. i think an all oil mixture is good for shine/sheen though...let us know what you end up doing w/ them...please.

Re: Oils Oils and more oils!
I have the sweet almond oil, castor oil and olive oil in a spray bottle that I apply to my scalp. They supposedly promote growth!
Re: Oils Oils and more oils!
UPDATE!
I just bought some castor....I think I am turning into a PJ! I used it on my ends tonight. I will follow-up in the morning, so far I like the application and the thickness. My hair loves anything thick that I put on it.

Re: Oils Oils and more oils!
well i basically mixed the oils together with some shea butter and used it to twist my hair. i don't think it worked to well cuz i woke up and my hair was still wet. i think i may use the oils after i do my hair as a sheen. I did mix the castor oil with my deep conditioning and my hair was pretty soft.
i am experimenting though. so we'll see what happens!

@p_nuttie43 you can mix a little of each oil with your coconut/shea mixture. You can also whip them inot a nice fluff. It makes your hair soft. Or you can mix the oils in a spray bottle or use as a scalp oil. The choice is up to you.

Re: Oils Oils and more oils!
@p_nuttie43 I purchased Jojoba oil, peppermint oil, sweet almond oil, coconut oil and lavender oil and brought a doppler and added roughly ten drops of each oil to the doppler. I then took the oil and applied it to my scalp and massaged it in for about 15 mins. I do this 3 times a week and it leaves my scalp feeling so revived and moisturized. The peppermint oil stimulates my scalp and makes it tingle. I love what it does for my scalp. My scalp doesn't even itch anymore like it use to.

Re: Oils Oils and more oils!
@loveself247- I need to go buy me some pepperming oil then because my scalp is starting to itch right now. It is almost a week into my PNC so I wasn't expecting much longer. I am trying to decide if I am going to do my hair tonight or tomorrow.
Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like I will be stopping my GNC on the way home.

Re: Oils Oils and more oils!
@Pinkrage,,,you can also purchase the oils at Whole Foods and the Vitamin Shoppe where they may be less expensive, GNC can be a bit pricey. Yes, that peppermint oil is amazing,,,I can still feel the coolness of it on my scalp now as I massage my scalp.

Re: Oils Oils and more oils!
Hello!!! For a great deep conditioner you can mix together the following:
1 egg (room temp)
2 tablespoon of organic mayonnaise or regular mayo
1/2 teaspoon of jojoba oil (for dry hair), Castor oil, coconut oil or grapeseed
1/2 teaspoon of cold press olive oil
10 drops of peppermint, eucalyptus or burdock root oil
whisk together until it's frothy put it in your hair and let it sit with a cap for 30 minutes, rinse with cool water to seal hair shaft!!
Let me know how it works for you!

Re: Oils Oils and more oils!
Thanks coils by nature. I'm not big on mixing things together but I might have to try that recipe. The good thing is that I have everything on the list already since I stopped by the Vitamin Shoppe on my way home to get the peppermint oil [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] .

you can make your own: there's a herbal store in our area called
Smiles and they sell burdock root, buy at least 2 oz, evvo (cold
pressed) jars (for jarring vegetables) your going to fill the jar with
the burdock root...to the top and then add EVOO or jojoba oil, jojoba
is more expensive, but it doesn't matter there both excellent for the
hair. The oil will be absorbed into the the burdock root and you will
see bubbles, keep adding until the oils is over the burdock root, seal
tightly and store in a cool, dry and dark place for 3-4 weeks, use
cheese cloth, or a very small strainer to remove the herb from the oil
and you will have you own herb infused burdock oil!
Re: Oils Oils and more oils!
I have yet to try making anything, This sounds so simple. I will put it on my to do list. Right now I am using Hair Necter by Pooka Pure and Simple..it has a nice blend of oils and is infused with Rosemarie. I love the softness and shine of my curls.
Re: Oils Oils and more oils!
sweetdrk1 where do you get the pooka products? I heard about them on the Michael Baisden show and want to try them out.

Re: Oils Oils and more oils!
I think I may want to try the Peppermint Oil as well as the Castor Oil! I hear Castor Oil is good and makes your hair grow as well. Have any of you had any good/bad experiences with Castor Oil??? And at what point do you use it....while your hair is wet? Dry? Damp? Just curious because I've never used it!
