I just ordered some aloe vera gel from iherb.com. They also have it at GNC. I also use Fruit of the Earth Aloe Veral Gel....the kind you use for burns.

There is a difference in the one I ordered from iherb.com and the one I got from walmart but you are right. You wont see one that says it's for hair. Hope that makes sense.

The Fruit of the Earth gel Lynnieluve is talking about is like regular hair gel and you would find it in the skincare aisle of the store. I think most people use it for hold and definition as they would other types of hair gel.

Then there is the aloe vera gel that must be refrigerated. Most people use this for its moisturizing properties sometimes alone or in their homemade spritzes. It has more of a liquid consistency than the FOTE gel. You would find this in the food supplement section of health food stores, Vitamin Shoppe, etc.

Both types of gel can be used on the skin.

Very nice breakdown!

I have to remember to buy aloe gel without the lidocaine in it. You would think the fact that one is blue and the other is green would remind me but no. Neutral

No problem ladies, glad to help.

@PaganWifey - what's lidocaine and what's wrong with it?

Lidocaine is a topical analgesic. Its added to aloe vera gel when used to calm the pain/sting of sunburn. Definitely would want to numb your hands and scalp when applying it to your hair.
