So I wanna deep condition my hair this weekend and was wondering do i follow up a DT with a moisturizing conditioner. When I've just DT I have dry, hard hair so I wanna know do I need the extra moisturizing treatment or is a good cream based conditioner enough?

When you DC add something else to the conditoner, such as, EVOO/honey. I do this with my conditioners and my hair is easy to detangle and leaves it super soft afterwards. EVOO is very slippery and honey (humectant) helps draw in moisture. HTH!

I agree with CG. Try adding something to your conditioner when you DC. I've added glycerin, honey and castor oil to my conditioners. And then when you sinse it out make sure to use a good leave in. That could be why your hair is dry after. What are you using as a leave in?

As the DC i have used ORS replenishing pak but I am currently looking for other options. and I was using S curl as my leave in, but as I get used to wearing my natural hair I'm trying new things. I've used Cantu leave in the last week or so and I'm really liking the results, but I haven't DC since I've started using this.

If you hair is dry and hard after using the ORS replenshing pak, it could be that you are protein sensitive.

One time I left the ORS replenshing pak in my hair overnight and the next morning, it was dry and brittle feeling. It happened when I used another conditioner with protein in it. What I have learned is my hair can handle a little protein. If I use protein, I cant leave it in my hair a long time and I MUST wash it out!!

How long have you been leaving the ORS in your hair?

Also here is a GREAT article on protein vs moisture click here

My hair loved ORS when it was relaxed and transitioning. I used an egg and it came out sooo soft, but I've been wearing my hair out for 4 weeks and I used ORS for the first 2 and my hair looked a HOT MESS! Maybe I don't need to leave it on as long now that i'm natural. I used to could leave it on for hours with no problems.

My hair loved it when I was transitioning too but not so much now. I still use it every once in awhile but I only leave it on there about 20 minutes.

Imma try leaving it in for a shorter time with some EVOO and maybe some honey and see if that helps.
