Re: Natural in Wonderland
Happy Wednesday lovelies!
The count down to testing begins! After work today I will go home, quickly workout, eat something, pack an overnight bag and then me and the GF will head up North to where the test is being held. Then tomorrow at 8 am PST I will start my exam!! I am trying not to be a bundle of nerves but it's hard!
In hair news, Seffy is doing well in the updo. I spritzed Lightly with my moisture mist last night before I put on my do rag. The hairs at the nape have escaped the flat twists so I just two strand twisted them last night and undid them this morning. Gives more of a romantic feel.
Since I am predicting that I am going to pass my test tomorrow, I think I deserve a treat. What should I get myself? Make-up, hair products, a tattoo, clothes? Help me out!!!
TIA
Seffy & Savannah

Hoping your trip north was peaceful and relaxing. I am hoping to hear how the test went.
As far as treat, get you some natural inspired teas and one coral/pink lipstick and lipgloss. Best of two worlds, I don't want you to become a PJ.
Hope you have a marvelous holiday weekend lady!

Happy Friday Ladies!
As you can see from the title of my post I passed my exam!!! Some parts were easier than expected (the written exam) and other parts were never wracking (I forgot several things during the practical but kept calm. When all else failed, I got up and washed my hands.)
I took the test with 3 other girls from my school and actually ended up being stationed right next to one of them during the practical exam. We all passed!!! It's a great feeling to finally finished with that part of my career training. There are still many things that I want to learn but getting licensed means that I am well on my way to realizing my career goals.
Now it's time to celebrate! Tonight my GF and I are going to Gay Day at Great America!! (For all of you who don't know what Great America is, it's like Six Flags). Gay Day is a private event, so they close the park off and you have to get special tickets. Besides the rides and everything, there are also performances. the last time I Kelly Rowland performed and this year the headliner is Kelis!! I can't wait!!! I will be wearing the updo tonight but definitely think that I want to do a twist out for Carnival on Sunday.
As for treats... I am definitely going to get some new lip colors. TMS sent me some SheaMoisture so that is my hair care gift to myself. Now I just need some new shoes!!! Thanks for all your suggestions. I will have a truckload of pictures for y'all on Tuesday.
Enjoy your long weekend ladies!!!

Re: Natural in Wonderland
Happy June 1st Ladies!
I hope that all of you had safe, wonderful weekends. Mine was very nice,
a few low points but many more high ones. One of the highest points was
my hair after the SheaMoisture!!! I'll get to that in a sec but let's
just say that I LOVE this stuff!!!!
Great America was kind of a disappointment. The park opened at 5 pm but
we got there around 10pm (it took us a little longer to get ready than
planned). When we got there, they were already starting to close down
some of the rides so we didn't get to go on as many as we would of
liked. AND the main thing is that people who had been there since the
park opened were drunk. Fall down obnoxiously drunk. Between that and
the rides being closed, we decided to leave before Kelis came on. Sad
but better to be home than to be surrounded by drunk boys (and girls).
Saturday I got my SheaMoisture from TMS! It included the Shampoo, Curl
& Style Milk, Curling Souffle, and Hold & Shine Daily Moisture
Spritz. I couldn't wait to get home and start playing
with it but since I wanted a fresh twist out for Sunday, I just opened
everything and smelled it. YUMMMY!!!!! All the products have a warm
sweet scent like coconut candy. Not being able to resist, I decided to
use the Curl & Style Milk as a leave-in after I cowashed my hair in
the twists. So I cowashed with Aussie Moist, tshirt dried, and used the
Milk on my damp hair. Then covered with my satin scarf and was done for
the day.
Sunday I prepared for what I felt was going to be an awesome twist out.
First I coated each twist with coconut oil and began to unravel. I
didn't really notice any benefit from using the Style Milk as a leave-in
so I'm going to use it as a moisturizer only. Once I unraveled my
twists I hopped into the shower so Seffy would perk up from the steam
but not get wet. Once out of the shower I used the Curling Souffle.
First I rubbed it all over Seffy get it evenly distributed, then I went
through my hair in sections to make sure that my whole head was covered.
Seffy loves this stuff! She felt moisturized, soft, cottony, and not product-y. She
was a lovely coconut fluff ball. I finished with the Moisture Spritz. It
gave me some light hold and a wonderful sheen. My GF commentd on how
great Seffy looked and it was hard to keep my hands out of her.
I took pics on Sunday but I haven't taken them off the camera yet. So
here a teaser pic of today's Day 3 twist out on dry hair using the Shea
Moisture products. Today I just used the Style Milk and the Moisture
Spritz.
Here you go!! I will have more pics tomorrow!

Hey S!
Too bad things didn't go well at GA.
I'm glad you like the SheaMoisture products. The smell is so wonderful and it looks like it's a winner for Seffy. I didn't realize your hair was thick like mine - I love it!

Thanks again T! I really am enjoying the SheaMoisture. I'm trying to think of a style to rock for the rest of the week but I know I'll be using the SM. And yes Seffy is thicker than a Snicker! I love having thick hair but I wonder how I'll deal when she gets longer. I see more protective styling in my future!!!

Hello lady! Happy Thursday!
for the great combo of Seffy and SheaMoisture!
I did not realize how thick your hair was either. Looking good lady!
I hope you recreate the look you mentioned on someone's journal, I think it was Nubie's.

Happy Thursday ladies!
It was a busy day at work so I haven't had any time to hang in the neighborhood and see what y'all have been up to. I can only swing through for minute, I am almost off for today.
I'll see you ladies tomorrow!!!

Re: Natural in Wonderland
Hello my beauties and happy Friday!!!
I hope that you all have wonderful weekend filled with beautiful weather! It's supposed to be in the mid 70's -low 80's here in the SF Bay area and I, for one, cannot wait! I'm going to rock my new sun dress and show some leg!!!
I don't have any major plans this weekend besides Brunch on Sunday with some friends. The brunch is to celebrate the beginning of summer and all that we have accomplished in our lives this past year. Also today is my 2 year anniversary with the GF!!!! We're going to have a little dinner and some romance and who knows what else!
Tomorrow I plan on doing my hair. I'll most likely do another updo (toying with the idea of a fauxhawk of some sort). Not sure if I'm going to stretch my hair this time because I don't want to take a long time doing it. I am going to use my SheaMoisture products tho. I love them!!!!!
How about you? Any weekend plans, hair or otherwise?

Thanks Chrs! Yess Seffy is super thick and shrinks a lot! I'm working with about 4 or so inches but it looks more like 2, lol. This weekend I am going to do some make-up pictorials. I'm going to make sure to photograph each step so I don't forget anything. For that look I did a two color lip: orange with a pink stain the the center, yummy!ChrsLvsBks wrote:Hello lady! Hello Ladies,
Sorry I've been MIA. Work has been quite hectic this week so I've actually been working . On the upside I have begun to put my plan in motion to transition out of my office job and into working as an esthetician full time by the beginning of September . I can't wait!!!
In hair news I am rocking twist out faux hawk with three flat twists on each side. (of course I don' have pics) I like the look, esp since the out part gets fuller each day. To maintain the style I chunky twist the middle every night on dry hair, cover with a satin cap, then separate and fluff in the morning. In the morning I put some of the SM Style Milk or Curling Souffle on for moisture. Not sure if I'll wear it like this for a whole week again but it is a cute going out style.
