@Pinkrage, thanks, I cant wait for it to have some hang when dry. The party in New Orleans hasnt stopped yet. There's a Saints victory parade tonight. If my son werent sick we'd be going but we may catch it on TV.

@Sweet, thanks. I hope he gets better soon too.

Thanks Lynn. Im feeling a little better but still not 100%, but on a brighter note I passed my test. Not aced it like I wanted but considering my son was home with me and I was sick when I shouldve been studying Im happy with my B.

On the hair front, my twist out is getting tired and my scalp is ready for a good scrubbing but with this head congestion Im gonna keep pushing this twist out to the max. I hope everyone had a great night.

Hi Adiaha

I know you hated to miss the parade. It looked like a lot of fun, and at least you could watch it on TV. I'm sorry to hear that you and your son are not feeling well. Hope you both get better soon.

Yeah...don't shampoo until you are feeling better. No need for a set back.

Thanks ladies for the get well wished. My son seems to be 100% better, Im slowly coming around. I slept ALL day and I plan to sleep all night and hopefully will better tomorrow because either way I'll be at work taking care of (hopefully easy) patients.

Here is a link to my friends natural hair care website. Take a look and support a black business if anything suits your fancy. I havent tried her products yet but her hair is beautiful which I attribute to the use of her products and plan to purchase some soon.

Thanks Chrs!!!

Here's my attempt at turning my twistout into a puff. Not my favorite look but it'll do until wash day.

Hey ladies, Im feeling a lot better. Went to work today, it was horrible because I didnt finally fall asleep until 430 this morning and was up for 5:45. Fun!! So I'm heading to sleep real soon.

I found out that I have to work Monday because they're short staffed so they added me to the schedule since I called in sick last Saturday. BullSh*t! So I wont be washing my hair until Tuesday UGH!!!

Post by adiaha 17th February 2010, 3:13 pm

Hey ladies, I took a much needed hiatus. Ive been exhausted but Ive caught up on my rest (after three nights of insomnia).

@KNH I can definitely tell that my hair is growing and Im loving it. Its only been two months and its had to have grown at least an inch or more.

I washed my hair Monday night and deep conditioned overnight. I really want to get a thick, creamy DC. So far Ive been using EVCO and EVOO mixed with some Mizani conditioner from my relaxed days but I think I want to try Jessicurl deep conditioner or AOHSR.

I was going to twists my hair but my mom offered to do it and I wasnt going to pass up the opportunity to sit back and relax. It still took 5 hrs. Im convinced that it takes so long to do my hair because my hair is so freaking thick. I love my thick hair except on wash/style day. My butt hurt from sitting do long LOL.

Here are pics of my twists:

Im still using the Castor Oil but when I run out of this mixture, I will try mixing it with coconut oil instead of Olive Oil. Im still getting an itchy, flaky scalp and my mom told me that olive oil always gave her dandruff, so Im going to eliminate that from my regimen to see if it helps. If it doesnt I'll add it back in because I love what it does to my hair.

Thanks Chrs, when we braided the front the ends stood straight up so we just twisted them together. An accident but I'm pleased with the results!

All is well. Just busy with school, work and life and this board will cause me fail out lol so I pop in but its hard to come on and write about me, me, me when I'm curious about what's going on with everyone else, just don't have time right now to find out.

Nothing new with the hair. Still twisted, still using castor oil and still hanging happy :-)
