Curlz of Luv
Well today is my 6 month anniversary of my BC (11-03-09). I can't believe it..
I have had many ups and downs and there are still days that I feel frustrated and want to go out and get a kit in a box.
Don't get me wrong I love my hair but it can be frustrating at times. I have really thick course, 4a/b/c hair (mostly 4c). I also have 2 little girls that are natural with similar hair and when I am trying to manage and style all of our hair it can be exhausting.
So I chose a new name (from anewme to curlz of luv) because all that I do for my hair and especially my daughters hair is out of my love for them and my desire for them to love themselves as they are.
I am hoping to use the journal to help me decide on and implement a regimen for me and my girls for the summer.
I seemed to be having issues posting pics of my growth, so I will do that tomorrow.

Re: Curlz of Luv
Welcome Curlz- I did my friends twists today! I am so tired - i cant move! I cant imagine having to do 3 heads of hair!!
Re: Curlz of Luv
Thank you, I was on the BnB challenge for awhile but wasn't consistent. I am going to try to post here at least 3 days a week.
I am going to try and post some pics of all of our hair tomorrow.

Wow it wasn't until I looked at the pics did I realize how much my hair really has grown.
All I do is really WNG and I am SOOO bored with that which is probably why I am also feeling some frustration with my hair. So my challenge for the next 30 days for me is to find a regimen I can stick to for the summer (which includes products and some new styles or accessories or sumthin)
All suggestions would be appreciated...

Thanks...I was doing alot of stalking but I had stopped posting. I guess since my hair was so short I didn't feel like I had to much to say, also the PJ was getting out of control (lol)...I have a problem, I am putting my stuff in storage containers, mixing tons of stuff and buying products...
as far as twists.....I have sorta...I think I need to do them smaller cause my hair is thick
and doesn't have much curl pattern and also I usually just leave them
in overnight and I see everyone usually leaves them in for at least 24
hrs.
Re: Curlz of Luv
So I decided to try twist again. I took my time tonight and did them smaller, I wet my hair with water and used ORS lock & twist gel and my shealoe mix.
I am crossing my fingers and toes...
Here is a pic of the sort braid out I did on my daughter. She had her cornrows in front and box braids in back for 2 weeks and I had to take them out to wash her hair. I took my time and this is what we ended up with.

Thank you but I was just taking her hair out so I could wash it the next day and I noticed how nice it looked so I took a pic. She rarely wears her hair out because she gets HIH and when she gets home from school she looks like a hot mess. However I will remember this for picture day maybe.

Hi yes it is me!...
I am definitely going to try and use this journal more. I am going to commitment to at least 3 days a week.
And by the way Lynnie thank you for some advice you gave me on the BnB challenge. I used ORS Lock & Twist gel last night and my twist came out really nice. I am very pleased. Now can you tell me how you maintain your twist at night?
Re: Curlz of Luv
Beautiful twist out!!!
I tie my twist down with my du-rag and put my bonnet on top of that for back up.

Re: Curlz of Luv
I have been so crazy busy the last week and hair seemed to play such a major part. Not my hair though, my little divas.
Their dance recital was Friday night so on Thursday I washed conditioned, blow dried and flat ironed their hair so I could it do their ballerina buns. They were thrilled because I don't use heat on the hair and that will probably be the last time for months. Maybe I will when school start back.
So now this week is the last week of school (we get out really hearly here but they go back the first week in August).
My girls have started swimming lessons again so that means shampooing every Saturday. I have debated about co-washing however my oldest has eczema and also sweats in her scalp (like me) so I have to really keep her scalp clean. So I purchased AO Swimmers shampoo & conditioner, it is gentle works well and smells great. I also put in a squeeze bottle so I can apply directly to her scalp. I have used it 3 times on them and love the results. I put the conditioner on first for about 20 mins, then I detangle which is a breeze, then I wash once then I use Curls Curly Q Coconut Dream Conditioner. There hair was so soft and manageable (WOW).
My oldest daughter wanted cornrows with extensions which is something she hasn't had in over a year. So I did it myself for the first time. It came out okay but she is thrilled cause it gave her a real ponytail. I did the veil style on my 5 year old with two twisted puffs in the back.
So now I have to work on my hair which has been really neglected this week. I have purchased the Curls line for my girls and some of Donna Marie's products for me. I am trying to get a better look for my WNG.
I am looking for how to info/video on WNG for type 4 hair any suggestions?

Re: Curlz of Luv
Thanks KNH
I used the Donna Marie today however I did not use it like CKC did on her video. I used it to do two strand twist. They are very soft. I am going to try to leave them in all week. My hair is short for twist and I don't usually leave them in except overnight however I think my hair is in need of some protective styling.
