Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
I'm in but I don't have any pics right now- I plan on doing some kinky twists within the next two weeks which will make it easier for me to get to my scalp better.
I'm still transitioning but my measurements for NG are side: 4.5 inches, back: 3.5 inches, top 3.5-4 inches. Happy growing! :-)
I'll be using Castor Oil (Home Health brand), sweet almond oil, and tea tree oil on my scalp.

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
@ rvalent2--NO!!!! NOT the grease. That more than likely has mineral oil in it!!!!! Use just regular, straight up castor oil. The real natural kind. I think some people are using that Jamaican Black Castor Oil, but I am using the regular kind.
Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
oh thank you for responding. I'll go and look for your suggestion. Thanks!

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
No problem. It's just that mineral oil can clog the pores and inhibit growth which is defeating the purpose. And it only sits on top of the hair/scalp, it's not absorbed. Really only good for shine. I avoid it.
Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
lol- I felt you reaching out through the computer Kris to stop her before she starts or thinks about it- you are too sweet :-)misskris wrote:@ rvalent2--NO!!!! NOT the grease. Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
HAhahahaha!!!!! I mean I guess I am not totally opposed to mineral oil but I do try to stay away from it. But some people don't mind it. Of course I have used it in the past as well. And i supposed i MAY still use it if it were one of the last ingredients, not the 1st or 2nd. I guess that makes a difference.
Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Ok so I decided not to flat iron for my before pics. Lol, just going to be too much work. Should the pics show my length all the way around or just at the longest or shortest point? My hair had different lengths all over. Can we go longer than a month? I think it would be a great idea to go all winter but to report length monthly... I want to get some of this JBCO but I am trying keep the PJ-ism under control, lol.

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Hey, Ambitious_Tiff, I like your idea of going all winter with the challenge and reporting monthly. As far as the pics, I kind of just chose the areas that I could easily measure myself, and I took a pic of my edges because I really am working on thickening that area.

Hey girl! Long time no see!! **wave** Lol, your are looking radiant in your avi!! That sounds like a good way to measure. My edges are filled in but the hair there is so short! I think that's what I will be concentrating on the most! Thanx!!

LOL...it's okay to cheat no, really, as long as you are consistent, you'll see results. Thanks for the update. Keep it up, girly!

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Hey Tiff. Of course you'll see results just doing 4 days as opposed to 6. 4 is better than none which is what I'm doing!!! LOL I will get on the ball next week!!! LOL
Butterfly & Tiff, Thinice had actually asked about extending the challenge thru the whole winter the other day. I think it's a good idea as well. And update once a month. So lets do it that way then.
***CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE TIL THE END OF WINTER***
***UPDATE LENGTH AT THE END OF EACH MONTH***
All in agreement say "Aye" LOL
