I apply the leave in, seal with oil then apply moisturizer and/or styler since I wear WnGs. I am going to try using the LI with nothing else and see what happens Friday. Tomorrow, I'll try just the LI and CJ AF.

Ok so I tried the recipe and I don't think it came out as well as everyone elses but I will see how my hair feels when its dry. I followed the recipe I only substituted the Aloe juice for the gel. I saw post on here that said it didnt matter but I think that changed the consistency of it. It looked much thicker than hers. We'll see though it should be half hour before it completely dries

So last night I co-washed with YTC and did a cold rinse and my hair felt very good afterward very soft. I made the modified version of the leave in using Giovanni, JBCO, Aloe Vera Gel and Jojoba oil - used measuring spoons to measure exactly and mixed well. My mix was creamy and loose. I section my hair and applied all of mix and used my Deman to distributed evenly. I applied a tiny bit of EVOO at the end. I put my hair in 6 large twists put on my satin bonnet and went to bed. This morning my hair was not completely dry about 80%. I massaged out the parts and have it pulled back in a puff. Right now my hair feels moisturized. But I will see if it pass the test later as it drys - if it retains the moisture without adding any other products, i.e. moisture and/or styler. My crown gets very dry and that's my problem area.

CocaColaCutie wrote:I also tried it--following her recipe exactly and loved it. I put it on damp hair and let it air dry over night in about 8 twists. The next day my hair was still feeling super moisturized. I think I will be mixing up another batch with Giovanni Direct Leave in and will report back results on that.

Please do report back with the results of the Giovanni DLI...if it works, the bottle can surely last a long time.

Lynnieluve,
After using the leave-in I typically put my hair in braids to stretch it and once it dries I twist. Would you recommend using some type of product for the twist or just twisting the hair dry?

I like to add product to my hair when twisting it (on wash day). I'm kinda lazy. I like for my hair to be moisturized for days (2 or 3) before having to moisturize again. I dont want to have to moisturize daily.

I actually twisted my hair with the leave in and was shocked that it provided hold for my twist. I washed my hair and twisted my hair with the leave in and next day my hair was sooo moisturized .

Next wash day I will measure it ; CORRECTLY ..am i the only one that dont have that scale thing? lol

Im really thinking about buying the PH strips Im really curious on the PH of my products..Do anybody have the PH strips?

I was going to get the pH strips until I starting finding links that already have the some product's pH listed. I will just compile all the information and save some $$$

I have the pH strips. I have not taken them out of their pretty brown tissue paper yet. I do plan to test my products and mixes.

I used the LI today without any othe product. My hair is nearly dry after only three hours. I do need to add a gel over it to elongate my shrinkage prone areas around my ear and at my nape. I will share before and after pictures (without gel since I did not bring it to work) after my lunch at around 2 PM.

Before - wet head @ 8 AM
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

After - completely dry @ 1:15 PM

Update - so after my initial application as explained I used the Leave In with a little added EVOO. Did 6 large twists and went to bed. Next day was hair felt moisturized mainly because it was still damp. During mid day once fully dried, my hair was moisturized and felt ok. It's wasn't too dry. My crown is the problem area and gets extemely dry. Ultimately better than any other leave in i've tried to use alone with no other product.

So last night I wet my hair a little and applied some MHC - Guava Honey Balm and sealed with EVOO and twisted. I must say, this morning my hair felt great. It was was moisturized and had a shine going on. I will most defintely use the leave-in but apply a styler afterwood for better results.

Since I used the modified version using Gionvanni - I defintely want to try with the KCKT.

So after hearing alll about kimmaytube's leave-in, off course I had to try because I don't seem to find any way to moisturize my hair AT ALL.
All I want to say is: She needs to bottle this thing, because presently she is loosing TONS of money!!
This conditioner is so good! Although my hair is still wet and I need to wait for it to dry to see the real results but twisting my hair was a breeze!! I've never felt my hair so soft. Upon immediate application i felt the difference.
I think i have found my mix.

kimmaytube made partner today on Youtube; whoa! thats amazin! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] and I think the reason she hasn't bottled it up because making a leave in conditoner to sell to the world isn;t as easy as making a mixture for yourself. BUT when she do make her own leave in or a product I will def be a loyal customer because she wouldn't create something that don't benefit our hair.

I tried Kimmaytube's leave-in this week and I love it! I used it on my two-strand twists and they are so moist and defined. It's definitely a keeper for me. I accidently put in a teaspoon of EVOO in place of one of the teaspoons of castor oil and I used AVG instead of AVJ but it still worked great [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] .
