Re: TerraD, MM, Life and Brazilian Blowouts!
LOL I agree! My aunt is a missionary and she said that it is hard to minister during the first wind following a disaster like this. She said that some people (missionaries included) cannot handle the amount of death and turmoil that surrounds these situations. Maybe it's a good thing they are leaving, so the stronger ones can get in there!

True that... My heart was smiling though when they showed people in the street having an impromptu worship service singing and praising...even the kids...I was seriously sitting on my couch boo-hooing lol but it was happy tears that time just cuz God was all up in the midst of it and they recognized their blessings upon their lives

Re: TerraD, MM, Life and Brazilian Blowouts!
Last night I re-twisted, re-braided and cleansed my scalp. My twists were poppin'. I trimmed the last 1/4" off, which defeats the point of the past two weeks, but it really made a difference. This is how much hair was trimmed:
My twists were definitely hanging better. They shrunk a lot from the process, but my aunt told me that they're so nice they look like false twists (kinky-twists). Woot! Woot!
My updo looked much better this morning, but I forgot to take pics. I will take a pic tomorrow and post it!

I wanna see
TerraD did you see that jacked up article on MSN about Wyclef Jean's charity. Someone is trying to discredit his efforts. I'm so mad, he is always trying to help Haiti and now someone wants to talk about what he is doing and how he is misusing charity money.

Re: TerraD, MM, Life and Brazilian Blowouts!
Happy MLK Day!!!
Hello Ladies!!! My twists are still holding up! I received tons of compliments at church yesterday. Even a cute older lady in a wheelchair! I'm still wearing the infamous updo, which remains a huge hit.
Church was amazing yesterday. At one point the choir sang a song and the song leader goes "We need to give God the glory, because we are one earthquake away from being Haiti" He couldn't have been more right. The people of Haiti didn't even know that they could get an earthquake, and were not prepared. Sure, California is prepared, but how prepared can we be for natural disasters? What about my hometown? Earthquakes are unheard of in the Midwest, East Coast. This is truly a time for us to be thankful.
On a lighter note....I cannot wait until next month, for my Bun month! Woot! Woot! I have enjoyed these twists, but Bun month will give me the opportunity to enjoy buns as well. I learned a lot about my hair during Twist month and expect the same during Bun month. I will have to get some aloe vera gel! Because I like my edges to be smooth, but that will be worth learning!
Have a great day?

The song leader was right, we are all one earthquake/tornado/hurricane/drought away from being a people in desperate need! We should all be thankful daily.
A guess a month of protective styles is good for you in more than one way-you protect your hair and can perfect a style technique. Bunning in Feb is going to give you so much free time. The part I love about bunning is that you always know what you are going to do to your hair, lol

LOL @ d.denise. I will be borrowing styles from you too.
@ tiashauntee: That's right I'm able to learn more about my hair too! I'm going to try overnight baggying next month, like you did!
