Re: jamaicacurl
Thanks so much for your kind words, love and support ladies *hugs*.
Here's what happened on Sunday: we were getting ready to leave for church. Hubby started the car (in garage) to warm it up and put 3 yr old son in the car but did not buckle him in. He then was preparing to put 1 yr old son in the car as I came out to buckle in the 3 yr old. I noticed that 3yr old was stretched over to the front of the car and yelled at him to sit down. Just after the words came out of my mouth, the car started rolling backwards. 3 yr old put the car in reverse!! Me and hubby are yelling and I look to see a look of sheer terror on my husbands face as the car door (which was open on his side) traps him against the wall of the garage door and the car is still moving back. He can't speak, all he can do is scream! I catch the front passenger side door to open it and put the car in park. The car stops. My husband yells for me to get the 1yr old. I'm thinking the 1 yr old is trapped between the car and wall with him. No, he was behind the car! The last hubby saw him he was right at the rear bumper so at this point he swears the car ran him over (hence the terrified look in his face). I run around the car to (thank God) find 1 yr old about 1 foot behind the car looking very confused. He did not get hit. At least if he did, he was probably bumped and it made him stumble back but he didn't fall (that's just how I imagine what happened). I let hubby know that he's ok and then I brought the car forward so hubby is no longer pinned. Poor thing collapsed as the car released him and I thought for sure he was badly hurt. His leg was stuck but nothing broke. He just got a scratch and he's ok. Needless to say, our nerves were completely rattled for the rest of the day. Especially hubby because he thought for sure that we lost Nigel. I thank God multiple times a day for protecting us but I can't help re-playing the whole thing in my mind constantly and thinking about the what-if scenarios. I know it's got to be nothing but the devil putting those thoughts in my head....and just had to be the devil that made Julian put the car in reverse. He NEVER EVER touches anything like that. He knows better. But for some reason Sunday was different. But again, I give God all the praises!
So now that rear door that hubby was trapped in broke and my driver door broke as a result so insurance is coming to pick up the car today and take it to the body shop for repair/replacement. Thank God also that we switched to Allstate when we did and have had clean driving records over the last few years so now our insurance deductible is $0! We figure we will be without my car for at least a week so we're gonna try swinging it with 1 car until we absolutely have to rent one.

OMG Jamaica! I am soooooooooooooooooooo glad that you are all okay. That had to be such a scary situation. I'm so happy you were able to react so quickly and the situation ended the way it did. The most high was protecting you all. Oh, I just want to hug you right now. I started to tear up reading that. Blessings to you and the family.
Re: jamaicacurl
Thank God!!!! God is so good and He deserves all the glory in this situation. I praise him for everyone being okay! That is an awesome testimony!
I would like to share a helpful tip - always use the parking brake. Even on flat surfaces. I am sure your son wont touch that gear again - but you never know when the devil is lurking.

I was in tears reading the story. I can only imagine how you and your husband felt while this was going on and even now. I am overjoyed that our Lord and Savior had His arms of protection around each of you. Praises be to Him who is able to keep us (wiping tears of joy and ready to go to bathroom to release).

I thank God you and your family are ok. I thank God you were able to keep your wits and stop the car. God is so good!! He loves us all so much!! I thank God for his GRACE and FAVOR!!!
I pray you and your husband are able to see God's love your family and not focus on the "what ifs" and the "I should have." You are right, that is just the devil...THE DEVIL IS A LIE!!!
(((Hugs)))
SN: Thanks for that tip Tia!!

One of the best mechanics I ever had told me that. I trust his advice.
Re: jamaicacurl
PRAISE THE LORD for his protection!!! I was reading that story and my heart was just pounding, on the verge of tears!!! The devil is such a liar but thank God for the victory!!! I am SOOOOO gald to hear that everything is ok and I can't even imagine how rattled you and your husband and the kids would be in that situation.
To God be the glory!!!

Re: jamaicacurl
*in tears* thank you ladies! I can't stop thanking Him for his grace and mercy. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for all of your kind words and support.
@ Tia- yes! One thing I learned from that experience is to always put on the emergency brake! Trust me I will probably so anal about it now just from paranoia!

Yes, thank you Jesus!!!!!!!!!

In other news....for the last 2 or 3 days I've been using a product that I've had since last summer and haven't finished. It's the Biotera Curl Cream. In the past, I thought it weighed my hair down a bit and didn't do much for my curls but I think I may have been putting in too much. Lately I have picked it up again using much less and raking it through after blotting out excess water from my hair. I then scrunch in a little Elasta gel to the ends and maybe the bottom half of my length for extra hold.
Also, I use a wide toothed comb in the shower to detangle but I've also been using a the wider side of a regular comb like this one here:
to break up the clumps a bit. I think that this helps my hair to dry faster and I don't really mind my clumps being a little thinner because then it gives me more volume and you know that's what I'm after! However, I don't think that using this comb gives me good 2nd day curls though because they're too thin so they get messy looking the next morning. So, I plan to try just using my fingers and see if that gives me more success with that.

LOL I know right! We're never 100% satisfied!

No I have not tried a Denman (yet) but I do use a shower comb to detangle in the shower. But for some reason when I get out my hair is all clumped up again. I sometimes will comb it again with the shower comb. What is a bone comb?
Re: jamaicacurl
If I understand correctly a bone come doesn't have any seems in it so it won't tear your hair. They have them on ebay for various prices and styles.
Re: jamaicacurl
I miss you guys too Sweet! I miss being able to be on here often and post whenever I feel like it....by mid April I should be good to go! I have a deadline to meet for work so I really need to get on that...then going to Jamaica for Spring break (yay) in April when I will finally meet my bio mom (yay!)...and then, things should get back to normal.....(yay!)
Re: jamaicacurl
The only thing I did differently today vs. the last few days is co-wash with the same ole Suave coconut conditioner. Used my usual GF Triple Nutrition as conditioner and leave in, and Elast gel....and for some reason my curls are on and poppin today!! No frizz, plenty of shine and definition! I'm loving it but what the heck???
That ever happened to you ladies? Random good or better hair days with the same products??
