Re: jamaicacurl
Your hair looks great with the FLS! Your hair clumps beautifully.
I know it is CG friendly because blondie suggested it. Would you continue to use it or do you prefer your flax seed gel? Have you ever tried Aubrey Organics B5 gel? If so, what was your experience?

Thanks Chrs! Yes, that's something I forgot to mention was the clumping. The clumps are definitely good. I think this worked well enough for me to continue to use it with future wash & go's to see if the results are just as good.
No, I've never tried that product before. Now I'm tempted to investigate!

I love your results from the Elasta gel...but your hair is always beautiful regardless!

Thanks Tia!
I forgot to mention that since I did the Bentonite clay treatment my roots are still kinda fluffy and I notice it's more curly than before and the curls seem to be smaller.
I had the same results with my curls. I'm sold on the bentonite clay!

Today I did a wash & go. That wasn't the plan exactly. I planned on washing my hair last night so it would not be so wet when I left this morning but...I fell asleep putting my son to sleep lol!
I had decent 2nd day hair yesterday, which I was pleasantly surprised about. This Elasta gel might be promising. Although my hair has continued to feel soft since applying it on Saturday, when I washed this morning it felt different. I want to say gritty but there was no grit. I don't know how to put it. Anywho, I conditioned with GF Triple Nutrition and it felt better after I detangled and rinsed. I applied GVP Cond. Balm as my leave in and then applied Elasta gel. I used less this time. I put about 2 dime sized amounts to each side of hair and flipped my head over and applied a little less than a dime to the hair underneath. I plopped for 15 mins and air dried. My hair didn't dry as crunchy as Saturday (even though it wasn't that crunchy then either) & it feels softer. Clumping is good again, and it has shine and body (after fluffing). And using less of the gel today resulted in a big decrease of that salon smell the gel has.
I didn't get a chance to do my oil DC yesterday as planned so I may do that tonight.

@humannature- thank you!
@lynnie- GVP = Generic Value Products which is Sally beauty supply's line of copycat products to the expensive brands. The ingredients are the same (they list both theirs & name brand's on the bottle). The conditioning balm is a copycat of Matrix Biolage conditioning balm.

Re: jamaicacurl
I'm glad you were able to get two day hair! This is rare, correct? The gel sounds like it is working out for you :-).
@d.denise, you can probably help your clumping by rinsing in cool water and using your fingers to detangle instead of a comb or denman brush. I notice more clumping when I do this.

Last night I put my hair in two large and loose twists and covered with a satin scarf. This morning I took it out and since there wasn't much frizz I decided not to wash it. Some curls were too stretched out so I decided to do a messy side bun inspired by Curly Nikki. I didn't have any hair candy to adorn it with so it was just plain. But I liked it.
I feel like the pics don't really do it justice...

I actually used to Lynnie. What began as a fun hobby turned into a nice little side business for a while. Then came my 1st son and I had less time. Then came my 2nd son and I rarely have time to make anything anymore. I did have an Etsy store at one point but word of mouth and wearing my pieces ended up being better for sales. I make things for friends every now and then when I have time.
Re: jamaicacurl
I love the messy bun! And agree with Chrs, you look really cute in green (which is my fave color ). I second what lynnie said. I need more dangly earrings, they go hand in hand with curly hairstyles!

Re: jamaicacurl
I like the messy bun too. I can't wait to get more length so my bun looks like that instead of a knot, LOL!
I agree with Terra about the dangling earrings.

Re: jamaicacurl
Thanks ladies. I agree about the dangling earrings and curly hair do's. I find myself wearing those and big pearl studs more often as well. I need to make some big brown dangling earrings...

I did an evco & evoo DC today and my hair feels so soft & bouncy. I parted my hair in 10 sections and applied the oils together to each section, paying special attention to the back based on my previous results. I combed it all through, twisted it up in a bun & donned a plastic cap. I then sat under the heat cap for 40 mins and left it in for an additional hour or so because I was busy getting some things done. I then co-washed in warm water, conditioned with Giovanni Smooth as Silk, rinsed in cold water and used GVP CB as a leave in. I did not put in any stylers. I then plopped for 10 mins and air dried. The results were great! My hair was so soft all around and frizz was very minimal.
I need to be sure that I do this every week.
I will upload pics later.
