Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
@Kea::curls - I have not found any hats that are already lined. I wear my bonnet or a du-rag under my hats. One day (I hope) I am going to go buy fabric and just line them all myself.
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
Yesterday I wore a hat and found a way to put my satin scarf on so that it didn't show, but I probably need to buy a du-rag to go under it!

The du-rag is the most convenient for me but the one I have now is purple, LOL. I need to go purchase a black one.
I think I found what my hair LOVES
I have know pretty much the type of products that my hair likes but I think I have found what my hair truly loves. The other night I co-washed my hair and only used natural products to style. My hair is so soft and shiny
I think that I am going to stop buying ready made products and stick with the natural items. I am going to continue to try this new line up and see if I keep getting the same results.
I would like to discover a way to co-wash with natural products. Any ideas?
Off to Google.......

I was reading your blog and was interested to know how the Aloe Gro Treatment worked out. Do tell....

Well I don't believe in growth treatments or products but I like this one just for the moisturizing properties. We I first mixed it up I was using it on my husband's hair (he has locs) and it really keep them fresh and prevented his scalp from drying out too much. I have finally been using it on my hair for a week straight and I has really kept my hair soft. As far as the growth is concerned....too early to tell if it is true.
yea...Monday.....NOT!
Yesterday was my DC day. I DC'ed long enough to re-twist the front of DH hair. I do a lot of hair in our house, my fingers are tired. I wanted to two strand twist my hair but after doing his I was ready for bed. So I have my bun back. I probably needed it because I feel like I abused my hair a lot in the past two weeks. I can't maintain length with constant manipulation.
I kept my routine simple like my hair likes. I co-washed with Suave Tropical Coconut, DC's with my Lustrasilk mix (I stopped using LeKair), spritzed with the Aloe Gro mix, and used my shea butter mix for styling.
Although I love to wear my hair out I think bunning is best for me during the week. I don't have to touch my hair so I can sleep until the last minute and I don't have to worry about my headset at work pulling out my hair. Yes buns are gonna work for me. I am trying not to get bored with them but looking for options is exhausting.

Try cute hair clips. I bought a few and are using those to clip the top and then bun, or to put above my bun. It looks cute without any unnecessary hassle!

I have a few. I get bored with the position and shape of my style. I need more "look" options. I do some braids in the front, twists, change the parts....but I feel like I've done it all.
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
Yeah I understand, it gets to the point where it feels repetitive. I'm going to try adding some braids, I'm not so good at those!

Practice!! I couldn't braid a lick a few years ago. Now I can go in all directions
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
I can't wait until I'm there! It's a struggle trying to put a braid across the front, that's my current dilemma!

I pinned up a twist out last Friday:
There are also more pics that have been added to my FOTKI album. If you click that "what's new" link on the left the updated albums will come up first.

Thanks! I fell in love with that picture the first time I saw it. I didn't even tell my hubby, I just purchased it and we usually buy home items together. He really liked it when he finally saw it.
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
awwww look at your furbaby! your hair looks really good...your curls always look so uniform. and thats my problem. there is no kinda consistency, even with a twist out (but thats partially my fault because i'm lazy lol)

Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
That furbaby is crazy! He's always doing something dogs shouldn't do....like "meow"
I get the best twist out results when I make my twist different sizes depending on the section of hair I am working with. So for me the middle of my hair is crazy thick and kinky, I put about 3-4 twists in the middle, one in the back and 2-3 on the sides. Better uniformity is also obtained when I do them on soaking wet hair that is detangled and moisturized.
You will get it, it truly comes with practice and learning how your hair likes to be handled.

Hey tiashauntee --
I had to jump in here to tell you that I have been using a slightly modified version of your holding cream from your blog for all my styles. The gel was drying me out, and this is GLORIOUS.
I love it.

Yay!!! I like when stuff works for other people too. What did you change?
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
hahahaha @ meow! my puppy (dont know why I still call him that at 60+ lbs) NEVER barks...unless someone rings the doorbell. I used to think something was wrong with him - but I would def think something was wrong with him if he started meowing around this piece. I already mess with my bff saying I think he has been slightly 'off' ever since he got run over by a car...like seriously - I wanted to ask my vet if dogs have mental problems lol.
I will keep working on the twist outs... sometimes they are gerat and sometimes Its like "who shot john" (<--- I have NO idea what that means lol...my fam says it all the time though and I'm not exactly sure when I picked it up...so weird!)

Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
LOL!! Tyson is a pit bull but he doesn't know it....and he did not bark for almost a year. We had to teach him. We would make barking noises at him and show him videos on YouTube, it was kinda funny. He is scared of babies and loves kids. They run up to him all the time and he just falls over and lets them pet him.d.denise wrote:hahahaha @ meow! my puppy (dont know why I still call him that at 60+ lbs) NEVER barks...unless someone rings the doorbell. I just used some melted shea butter in the place of the sweet almond oil, and I used Organix conditioner in place of the Suave. I used the orange-scented Organix and it smells like cake batter! I made two different kinds, one with more honey for when I keep my twists in for a couple of days, and one with less honey to use in place of gel for rollersets and stuff. I love it.

I loooooove cake butter. I was thinking about trying Organix I may get that particular one so I can try it
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
Ooooh this sounds yummy. I'm going to go over to your blog and check this out because i never know what to use to set my hair. Where can you get sweet almond oil?
BTW I am over here trippin visualizing yall 'teaching' him how to bark lol. Caesar's a pit bull too so maybe they only bark when necessary lol. Whenever he hears a dog bark on TV or something he goes up to the speaker, stares at it (not even looking at the TV), cocks his head to the side like WTF?, lol its HILARIOUS. He's never growled before...my friend tries to growl at him to make him growl back but he just thinks that means its play time lol. This is Caesar a few months ago...he might have only been about 40 lbs then lol:
yes, he is sleeping on my printer/fax machine/copier as if it was his pillow...now if I GAVE him a pillow to lay on, he would rip it apart... dogs do the darndest things.
