It is so windy here. We got out of the car and was almost blown back to Atlanta...lol

JC, don't worry about the gel. I stocked up right before I left. I know there is a Sally's around here, but I have yet to find the actual beauty supply. The search continues. I did spot Target though!!

It's still a little to warm for hats as scarves, but it's in the plan. I want to make some hats with a silk lining on the inside.

This weeks hair.

I washed my hair and twisted it last night. I finally bought a bottle of Giovanni Direct Leave In. I automatically used too much. My head was white. I did like how thick in went on and the smell. I didn't notice a difference in my hair as far as softness and curl definition. Did I miss something? I figured, maybe it was because I twisted it right away. I need to use it again on a day that I wear it out.

I can still see the results from the henna, though. I am loving that. I can't wait to order again. I have to wait until the end of the month, though.

I was able to keep my hair well moisturized with the change of environment last week. One change, I did notice is that I had dandruff. I haven't had dandruff since I went natural. Do I need to put something on my scalp in this colder weather?

Oh, I did find a beauty supply in Des Moines. I didn't get to stay in there long, but they didn't have anything to warrant me going back in there. I can get what I need online.

No pictures until I can get to the store. My batteries are dead. Webcam doesn't work that great. I have to be desperate...LOL

A year ago today I was in my bathroom applying creamy crack. I can't believe it has been that long. I don't miss one minute of it. The only regret I have is not going natural sooner.

It is pretty moisturized. I haven't really changed anything besides twisting instead of wearing it loose. I have noticed that I have dandruff at the end of the week, though.

How are things in Iowa? That sounds so far and out there. I hope you are getting out and enjoying the area.

We are loving Iowa. Thankful that it hasn't gotten cold yet. It's going to turn on us any day. Trying to enjoy it while it lasts.

I was worried the first couple of days that we were here. A new friend showed us around her town and it looks so boring. It just wasn't for us.

We are staying in an extended stay hotel for now until we figure out what we want to do. John's job was talking about giving him a store 2 more hours North of here. Well, they changed there mind and he now has a store in the Des Moines area.

I like the area here where the hotel is, but it is a little more expensive. We looked last weekend where John's store is and I really like that. It isn't far from the mall...LOL The housing is cheaper, too. I have my eye on this brick front townhouse. There is one available now, but we have to wait for John to get his first check to pay the deposit and rent. Pray that one is still available next month.

We have already found a new church that we really like. It seems like everything is starting to fall into place.

So for now, we can't be happier. It is different, but everyone is so nice and welcoming. They made us feel right at home.

I'm glad to see that you and your family are enjoying Iowa. Gloria is getting her grow on. I would think that the henna would help with the dandruff. The water there may also be causing the changes to your scalp. Praying that you will find the right home soon.

When I was washing my hair yesterday, I noticed how much hair was in my hands when I was squeezing it out. I can get a small pom pom pony tail. This made me think that I may be able to swing an updo. I got it all twisted and started pinning it up.

I guess it ok. I think I need to wait a little longer. Gloria loves to hide (shrinkage). I definitely don't like how the top sides stick out, so I will have to tweak it a little.

So, here goes.

As I sit here giving Gloria a deep treatment, I get an email saying that I won the Carol's Daughter hair Milk Collection. I just entered out of the fun of it. I can't believe that I won something.

My only worry now, is that I will like it too much. I have yet to become a product junky because when I did my big chop, I had no choice. The funds just weren't there, so I have just been sticking to the basics.

Now, this wonderful stuff is going to show up and I just might get addicted. I look forward to the experience.

congrats on the win I hear alot of people like the hair milk. I used the oil and loved it but it is kind of high in the stores. glad you are getting settled in iowa alot of people including me gets overwelmed with big moves.
