Re: Krazy Coils,
Hey KC...
WOW you have some hair girl!!! So you like the Dew by Oyin? I love the burnt sugar, and I was reading the review on the Dew. So I seal in my moisture using Giovanna Leave-in and EVCO. How do you do that with the pomade? Just curious...
Anywho...just wanted to stop by and say hi!!! Looking good over here and that braid out was to die for!!!
Enjoy your 3 day weekend!!

Re: Krazy Coils,
Wow KC! I haven't stopped by your threads in a long time but again wow! Your hair is looking awesome! I'll be glad when the back of my hair gets to that length! With my work out activity I have to wash my hair often and I must say that I have some of the same issues that you mentioned. I am using shampoo a little less but started using the Curls shampoo for Curls. That seemed to decrease my tangles but wow getting thru that has been tough. Anyway, just wanted to push the LOVE button on your hair and add that I think I'm going to order some oyin brown sugar.
Re: Krazy Coils,
Your hair is gorgeous as usual. Great length.

Hey KNH! I use the pomade to seal my twists by rubbing it between my fingers and smoothing it along the whole twist. I was using Castor oil but the pomade works as good as the castor oil.

Hey PS,
I dread the days when I have to use shampoo because I know my hair is going to act crazy and become extremely tangled. That's why I've been enjoying the co-washes. I've read about the Curls shampoo and have been tempted to try it. I may one day since a lot of people have said its a gentle shampoo. I think you'll like the oyin pomade. It reminds me of the Nourish and shine and I remember you used that one too.

Re: Krazy Coils,
Its Official, after hesitating I purchased the Tangle Tweezer and I am co-signing that this detangling brush is the truth for tightly coiled curlies!! I've seen reviews and youtube vids praising the Tangle tweezer but it was from ladies who had a looser curl than myself. I looked at this brush, gave it the side-eye and kept it moving. Now I saw a vid from Leslie with the Curls last week on Youtube and some sections of her hair are tightly coiled and my interest went up again when I saw how easy the brush glided through her hair. Then I saw Jlow give a review on here so I decided to bite and I purchased the brush.
Here is a picture of the purple one I purchased:
Now if you have tightly curled or coiled hair you can see why I gave this the side-eye. One look at the bristles and I was at first hesitant to use this for fear of breakage. But rest- assured this brush is the truth. I have been having serious issues with detangling and my hair tangling up in general. It always seems as if my hair coils back up on itself even after it has been detangled. So it always seems as if I'm always combing and detangling my hair. Here is a pic of the hair I removed from the tangle teezer, I usually lose more than this when detangling:
I detangled my hair on wet hair full of conditioner in front of my mirror. I hate detangling in the tub so I always detangle in front of my mirror.
Was my detangling time cut down? Not really but only because I always twist the section of hair that has been detangled and move on to the next section. Also my hair is thicker so I detangled in smaller sections. I do think it will become faster with continued use.
Was detangling easier? Hell Yes!!! I cannot remember the last time I thoroughly detangled my hair. I usually become frustrated or impatient and detangle enough to style my hair. I initially only intended to detangle a section but when I saw how easy this was I detangled my whole head! Also no snapping sounds while detangling my hair. You know the sound when your comb runs across a SSK and you comb too hard? No I didn't hear this today.
Recommendation: - I do recommend for ladies with thicker and or coarser hair to detangle with the tangle tweezer in smaller sections and to detangle both sides of the hair. For example if you are holding a section of hair in your hand use the brush on one side and then use it on the opposite side of the same section if that makes sense. I think ladies with finer hair can get away with just brushing one side but if you have thicker hair you can really detangle thoroughly if you do both sides of each section.
Also when I rinsed my hair in twists I plopped for 15-20 minutes then I plait to let my hair airdry in plaits. Usually I would have to comb and detangle the ends again before plaiting my hair. Didn't have to do it today. I removed the twists and I was able to quickly plait my hair no comb involved. My hair is thoroughly detangled!!
Another thing the instructions included say to start from root to tip. I didn't do this I started from the ends and worked my way up but by the time the section is detangled you will be able to brush down from root to tip. This is a long post but I am happy I found a tool that works to detangle my hair and I wanted to let all of the tightly coiled naturals know that this works! This does not pull or yank your hair. The bristles actually bend while detangling. Also I will do a vid the next time I use this.
If you don't have a tangle teezer, get one ASAP! This is coming from someone who has journaled about my issues with detangling and my tangle hair.

Re: Krazy Coils,
Thanks for the great review!
I'm going to get one to use on my mom and me. If I use it on both of us, I feel better about making the purchase. By the way, I never thought about detangling from both sides. I am going to start doing that, thanks!

This deangling tool will definitely become a staple for me. Detangling from both sides definitely got all of the shed hairs out.

I'm gonna have to try it on dry hair the next time! I love it also and I think it will help a lot of naturals retain more hair!
Re: Krazy Coils,
Hey KC! I am laughing because (1) after reading your review on it yesterday, I rushed to get one and my Sallys was sold out. :/ (2) I called one near my job today and they have it, so my lunch hour I am venturing out to grab one and (3) Blondie posted about this "doodad" back in August! How did we all sleep on it? LOL

I do remember Blondie posting about this and when I looked at the picture I kept thinking it wouldn't work on my hair but it does! I've seen postings on another hair board that its sold out on Sally's website and that other ladies have been driving to different Sally locations trying to get this because it has become really popular.
