You did a good job on the rollerset. I've been saying I'm gonna do a rollerset since Dec 09. I'm gonna give it a try after I try doing a braid out again.

@sheetacular_napps...Thanks so much!
@lynnieluve... Thanks! Go for it... I wanted something new. I tried a braidout like a month ago, it was horrible. I looked like I stuck my finger in a light socket. lol, It was great on my transitioning hair but not so much on my TWA.

After looking at CurlsGalore's braidout, I just have to try it again. My first braidout didnt turn out that great either.

Love the rollerset! Like lynn I've been saying for a long time that I'm going to attempt one, but I'm soooo lazy and hate sitting under the dryer. The closest I come are my curlformer sets but I don't have to sit under the dryer with those.

Re: jlowman1: SHORT UPDATE 3/18 =)
@ktoliver5303 & @curlsgalore...Thanks ladies!
@cocacolacutie... Thanks! & OMG, I sat under the dryer for about 10 mins and just let the rest air dry. It was sooooo hot. I havent been under a hair dryer in like 6 months and I so forgot how hot it was. LoL, these rollersets will be few and far between!
UPDATE for today:
I put my hair in twists last night and untwisted them this morning. I used Jane Carter Leave In, a little Hello Hydration and a shea mix (shea butter, coconut oil, EVOO and castor oil) to seal them. Here are my results:
Im still working on trying to hide the parts, it makes it look scalpy. I still don't like how it looks fully loose so I put two loose twists on the side and pinned with bobby pins...
Close up on twists:
Question: What are your tips for hiding parts when doing twistouts?
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY LADIES!

Hey your hair looks cute....hiding parts? Try not making parts with the comb, just pull out a section with your fingers and twist or lift the roots only with a hair pick
Re: jlowman1: SHORT UPDATE 3/18 =)
Good job on the rollerset. And I love the twistout pinned to the side!

Re: jlowman1: SHORT UPDATE 3/18 =)
I like the roller set. I have some of that Motions Foam Wrap but I thought if i used it in a roller set that the curls would become hard. I think I read somewhere that foam dries harder, IDK . I will definitely try it next time.
I have learned to embrace shrinkage. I go from hair that is on my shoulders (when straight) to a chin length bob style without a cut (in its curly state).

NICE TWIST OUTS!! I am sooo slapping myself right now because I gave away all of my rollers and stuff for styling.

Re: jlowman1: SHORT UPDATE 3/18 =)
I am a part-aholic (I'm trying to cut back some). I like a uniformed look for my twist since I wear them a few days before I take them out. The best way to cover the parts are to lightly lift the roots with your afro pick.

Good job on the roller set. I might need to copy your oil recipe. I just ran out of tea tree oil and want to try some different oils even though I love tea tree oil.

@cocoeuro:Thanks and thanks for the suggestion. I'll try that next time...
@Juices-n-Berries: Thanks JnB!...
@Sweetdrk1: Thanks Sweet!...
@Pinkrage: I sprayed Jane Carter Leave In on before I put the foam on so this could have been why it didnt dry hard. I do remember that it used to dry a little crunchy when I was relaxed but I would spray it with oil sheen and it would be ok. I agree with you on shrinkage, I really miss my length but I'm more happy with the health of my hair...
@ktoliver5303: Thanks! & goooo get them back! You gotta try it!...
@lynnieluve:Got it! I gotta work on them so I can start wearing my twists outside the house. I haven't gotten the courage yet...
@npmoore04: Its pretty good so far. I've used it to pre-poo, oil rinse and oil my scalp. Next time, Im cutting back on the amount of EO's that I used, they are VERY strong, and I'll also not use quite as much castor oil, it was a last minute fix to try to make the smell not so strong. Trial and error! lol

Re: jlowman1: SHORT UPDATE 3/18 =)
Hello fellow Curl Street curlies!
I decided to do a henna gloss because Im trying to be more consistent. I like henna glosses soooo much better than the full treatment. Much less mess and much less work involved. Here my mix:
about 75g of Jamila Henna
2 bags of green tea
V05 Moisture Milks (trying to get rid of it)
Castor Oil
Aussie Moist
I originally used about 50g but it was runny so I added about 25 more grams. Here's what my mix looked like:
Here's my freshly cowashed hair before I applied the mix:
Now call me crazy, but this mix had my curls soooo defined. Has this ever happened to any of you? I shingled it in, so could this have been a reason for it? I wish I could find a product that gives this much definition and elongation. Here's how it looked:
Its still in my hair. I wonder will it still look this way once I rinse it out??? Hmmmm...
Im going to Ulta, Target and Vitamine Shoppe tomorrow to get things for my hair. Im looking for a good natural shampoo and I've been contemplating buying Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding for awhile. Have any of you tried this? If so, what was your experience?

It could be the Aussie Moist and VO5 making your curls pop. I know when I co wash with them, it make my curls pop.
I've tried MJ Baby Buttercream before. I used it for my two strand twist. I love the way it made my hair look...shiny, no frizz....my twist out was very defined....but on about day 3 or 4 of the twist out, it made my hair feel icky. And you also have to use a sulfate shampoo to get the mineral oil out of your hair.

Re: jlowman1: SHORT UPDATE 3/18 =)
@lynnieluve... I thought about that. I used to cowash with Aussie Moist alot and it really defined my curls. I started to hate the smell and got away from it for awhile.
I will keep that in mind when I go to Target tomorrow. I may just go with the Shea Moisture products because they are cheaper and have better ingredients.

i looove the aussie moist, the smell doesnt bother me at all but now i am curious try a henna gloss...maybe i need to do a regular henna treatment first. i also want to try the curly pudding but i'll wait til i get more length or for a BOGO!!!

Re: jlowman1: SHORT UPDATE 3/18 =)
@Nubie...My arm muscles were hurting like crazy! lol but I liked the end result. If you do decide to try it, make sure your rollers have enough tension to keep your roots straight. A couple of mine were loose in the back so they turned out really poofy... & I guess the fact that I only stayed under the dryer for ten minutes because it was BLAZING hot contributed to that as well!
My hair was really dry when I did the full treatments and I hated sleeping in it overnight, that's why I decided to start doing the glosses. Also I figured doing glosses will encourage me to do them more often because they are far less work. I think I'll wait on that BOGO with Miss Jessie's too. Having them so close is so tempting. They knew what they were doing by putting those products in Target. I wonder will they do the BOGO's in store as well? I ended up ordering some NYX eye pencils instead that I've been searching high and low for. I cant wait to get them...

Hello,
I just did a henna treatment, and next time I am gonna do the gloss. I have not tired the aussie cond but you are so making me want to go get some and try it. LOL
I have tried the Miss Jessie Buttercreme, I liked the gloss it gave my hair but the smell was too much next day hair was frizzy by day end.

Hey @naturalchic... Its definitely worth a try. I used it ALOT when I first BC'ed. I got away from it for a while because it started to smell weird to me for some reason but Im back on it again now. Its thick and creamy goodness!
Is the Buttercreme the one with the peppermint smell? There's so many of them, I get them all confused.

yes the buttercreme has the minty smell but I heard the baby buttercreme smells better. you know you can order smaller samples for under $10 and i did not use a lot of the product, a little goes a ling way. I wanted to try something a little more natural
