Re: TheRYL1...Hey Y'all! ;-)
Hair Notes:
I've finally caved to the Yes to Cucumbers conditioner...so far...I LIKE IT! It's nice & thick...good slip...soft hair...
Yesterday, I flat-twisted by hair...using my shea butter/coconut oil/amla oil mix, with some HE Totally Twisted Gel...it came out pretty nice. (Actually, one side came out better than the other because my twtst technique got better as I went along!) The result was kinda fuzzy, but fluffy, if you will. I will try this again! It gave me a chunky twist kinda look that I loved! I couldn't keep my hands out of it!
One thing this style let me know...I need a really good trim.
I didn't take a pic of the flat twists...I forgot being so anxious to take them out! :-) But here's a pic of the end result.

Nice results....did you flat twist going straight back? Maybe I can master that instead of individual twists.
Hope you had a great day!!

LOL at TerraD...
KNH...yep, just straight back. I figured if I can get one across my head as a headband, I should be able to go straight back. lol
But, it took me a minute...I found myself starting to braid in the middle of a twist! ;-)

Re: TheRYL1...Hey Y'all! ;-)
Hey Ladies!
Today's hair was a twist out...it was so soft and curly...and not too much shrinkage. I attribute this to using Yes to Cucumbers...it's the only change I'd made in the whole process.
MISC Hair Stuff:
Since looking at pictures of my hair, I've been able to really get a good look at my damaged hair line. Wow! It's growing in and that's let me see how much was G-O-N-E! Man, brushing my hair for that smooth, slick ponytail was making me bald! I stopped just in time! ;-)
The hair headband helped me see, too. I must say the hair headband is a blessing because it's allowing the front of my hair to rest.

Re: TheRYL1...Hey Y'all! ;-)
I am loving the results Ryl!! I have to give that a try with this challenge is over!
Re: TheRYL1...Hey Y'all! ;-)
Hey Ryl, the hair looks good! Have you tried using castor oil or jamaican black castor oil on your hairline? That has helped some people to fill in their edges.
Re: TheRYL1...Hey Y'all! ;-)
Good Morning Ladies!
Thanks y'all...you know it's a work in progress. ;-)
Hey Krazy Coils...you know I"ve been thinking about getting some castor oil...I've read so many things good about it. Hmmm...trip to Whole Foods today?

Ryl! You're going to make me try that Yes to Cucumbers! Plus your hair looks great! What does amla oil do for the hair?
Re: TheRYL1...Hey Y'all! ;-)
I have the Say Yes to Carrots and Cucumber. I've only used the Carrots, but it has a cone in it. However, I really like it and can't wait to try the Cucumbers. This stuff is great! Great slip, great spread, great on the tangles. Rinses clean. I don't have any complaints about the smell either - its not strong to me. Since it's not cheap like VO5 I use it as my detangle cowash and VO5 as my cleaning cowash.
Re: TheRYL1...Hey Y'all! ;-)
Hey Poeticlyspkng...amla oil is to stregthen and add shine. I figured I'd try the oil since it's in a few of the good products...like Qhemet's Olive & Amla Heavy Cream. I like to use it as a pre-poo, too.

It's an Indian store on Hawthorne...a block or so past El Segundo, on the west side of the street.
I went to ZamZam a couple of weeks ago...they had some, too.

Hey RYL1...
Just stopping by to say hi..**waving**
I paid $8.99 at Walgreens..and it is a big 16oz bottle. I so love that stuff. I'm going to stock up then next time they have that buy one get the other 1/2 price. This is the next best thing since I discovered that I could use the EVOO on my hair that was in my kitchen!!
Hope you are having a great day!!!
