Alrighty, so. I did my henna treatment last night My hair felt super thick and awesome. I've finally come to the conclusion that my hair is REALLY fine. I only use one box of henna and this time around, I had like 1/4 of the mix left after I had already covered my head I globbed it all on anyways lmao.
Before I rinsed it out:
(Notice all the products in the background )
(that's my henna shirt haha)
After:
(peep the hair, had to block the face lol)
After my DC was rinsed out:
And nowwwwwwwww
braids!
On damp hair, I rubbed Trader Joes Nourish Spa Conditoner all over and then box braided using whipped shea butter (shea and EVCO). So...that's it. Woo!

That henna treatment treated your hair really well! And I agree with Nubie: we already know what you look like. You can stop hiding now.

Lol those pics were awful. I'm not photogenic like you guys lol. Thanks!
Random pics from yesterday (5.25) and today (5.26)
(don't let that pic fool you, i don't have boobs lol. i usually don't wear graphic tees unless it's a band tee, but i just randomly decided to put it on)
(bottom half, woo!)
(those earrings were HELLLLLA heavy. i felt so retarded wearing them lol)
and today was like...90 but it felt like hell
(bra fail?! my mom says i should've chosen a better color bra to wear, but i didn't know what color to pick so i just picked a matching one lmfao)
(much better than a smiling pic, but i look like i'm trying to be seductive and er....epic fail lol)
hair close ups:
Two more days until Six Flags and I have no idea what to wear Lawd.

karyn honey...u are sooooo beautiful and of course we care! we love ur big hair...now what i DONT care about is that power ranger ur standing next to u wit his ballz hangin out that cat suit of his!
but umm, yea cute dress too. i was always told when wearin white to wear black undergarmets underneath, sometimes my white is too sheer cuz u know the material or whatever so i'd wear somethin nude or white!
so stop hidin behind the camera and show that pretty face more often cuz ur gorgeous...oh and ur hair too!

Ever since I straightened my hair, I have been experiencing SO much breakage. Like...I have no clue what to do anymore. I did a henna treatment and my hair is still coming out I would appreciate any advice.

1) Your hair at Six Flags? AWESOME. And don't be afraid of Chaka Khan, she's FIERCE. Wear that big hair!!
2) I'm so sorry you're going through breakage. You should probably leave the henna alone for a bit and focus on DC treatments. Lots of moisture and protein (if you're not protein sensitive).

Hi Karyn! It's my first time visiting your CSJ and I'm so glad I did!! I love the pics of your hair --- it's gorgeous!!! And so are you, Missy! Girl, that heat damage is a doozy. I'm thinking of cutting my own off as a result.
Re: Henna --- it's not a protein. It IS a strengthening agent, but it doesn't actually replace protein lost, which protein treatments do. When I was trying to repair, I would alternate henna and protein treatments ... and ALWAYS follow up with a very moisturizing deep conditioner after each treatment.

It's not quite the same because mine are HUGE, but it's something hahaha. Don't laugh at my flat twists haha they suck.

Thanks JC! I'm sorry about your heat damage I love your hair. I'm sure it'll be amazing either way.
And wow. Pft, I feel stupid now Do you have any recommendations for a protein treatment? I'm still on a quest for a perfect moisturizing DC. I found it (CD's Tui Smoothie), but at 20$ and how often I DC, my mom is not having it lol. Right now I'm just DC-ing with random thick conditioners and oils.

Yay for juice twist!!! They look good Karyn!!!
My tui smoothie only lasted for 4 1/2 treatments....I didnt like it that much anyway. I love the Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque and it's $10. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect protein treatment. I'll let you know if I find anything.

I always DC after I henna, but my hair is never like buttery soft or anything. The Tui Smoothie lasted for like...4-5 times, I think. I might be heavy handed though lol
and no need to sponsor me Nubie, cause....
I GOT A JOB well i got accepted into a summer youth employment program which is pretty much a guarenteed job WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Aw man, I love that stuff! Hmm, I always look at it when I go to Target. Maybe I'll ask my mom for it. Thanks! I hope you find the best protein treatment
