Wow everyone's hair is looking great, I was afraid to wear my baby twists the first time I did them but I didn't want to take them out. I ended wearing them to night services at church where the lightning was dim and I knew my hair wouldn't be focused on, lol. But I finally got the courage to wear out to dinner with some friends and I got lots of compliments. I think sometimes we are our own worst critics.

Re: TWA Growth Challenge
Hi ladies
Need some advice. On Sunday I had hair crisis. So there I was getting ready for a wedding. I had 2 strand twisted my hair and it took 4 hours. I used Ecostyler, and HH as my leave-in. I am not sure if it was just to much conditioner but the ecostyler flaked. I noticed it when I took the twists out. I tried wetting it thinking it was conditioner, but it made it worse. I ended having to jump in the shower to wash it out. Ended up doing a wash-n-go. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Re: TWA Growth Challenge
I am not sure what may have caused it, but i know some of the other curlys use a eco custard to do their twist and they live it.
1 cup of Ecostyler gel
1 tablespoon EVOO
1 tablespoon castor oil
1 tablespoon avocado oil
I am going to bump this topic, it is in the general section.

Well ladies, I twisted my hair for the first time last night. Took me almost two hours, but I like them a lot. I'm scared to wear it outside though. What to y'all think?

Hi ladies, stopping by again,
hey LaToya, that style is cute and I think you can wear it out. The style emphasizes your beautiful hair cut and your skin. Try it with makeup.
dph201, you sound like me two weeks ago. See how CrissyQ's recipe works.

Re: TWA Growth Challenge
Hey Beautiful Curlies
I retwisted yesterday and really took my time. This time it took me about 2 hours and 15 min. The first try only took like 30 so I really tried to be neat. Even though I was uncomfortable wearing them out, my husband loved them and urged me too. so I'm proud to say that I took off the head wrap and I'm rocking my twists!!!
Here's my pics:

I have to say that it is much harder to twist my own hair! I've been twisting both my daughter's since my oldest was 3 and she'll be 13. And I'm sure that as it gets longer it will become easier. I was thinking that next time maybe I'll try to twist on dry hair? shrinkage is a beast man!!!
Also have any of you ladies experienced an itchy scalp? if so what do you do to control it. Since I've started twisting now I'm noticing my scalp is itchy.

Oh Newcurlieque I'm so loving your twists! Your hair is looking thick too! I can't wait until I get enough hair to actually grab so that I can do this. When I started doing my finger coils I've noticed the same thing with the itchy scalp. I know with me the only thing that soothes my itchy scalp while my finger coils are in is using a spray bottle with water and olive oil. I don't know if it's the air hitting the scalp or what and plus I live in Texas and we have hard water so I don't know if the water is contributing to my itchy scalp since I do spray my hair with water to coil my hair.
