Re: Swoodward, working on retaining my growth - still working it out
Two days of a W&G 'cause it was too damn hot to do anything else. AND I caught caught in one of those "Devil is kissing his wife" rainstorms. Sun shining on one side and grey clouds on the other. Only this storm lasted about 40 minutes. I keep having the same hair experience though - it always looks "done". Ha!
I think my hair is 5 inches in most areas. After I had the BC in late March, I had the scab ends cut in late April and a self-imposed trim a couple weeks ago. And it's still growing. I guess I really am making progress.
I was braiding my daughter's hair after a shampoo and I noticed that even though her hair is getting pretty long the curl is tight enough to keep it jumping up to her neck, interesting.

Hey Swood,
Have to catch up on your thread but my yard work is calling so I'll do that later. Just want to stop by and say hi and see how you are doing. Like the new avi and the cut on you.
Looking good. TTYL. Enjoy your Sunday.

Okay, I'm caught up in your thread. I have to check out these reviews. I have some DevaOne condish that I got from KrazyCoils. I haven't tried it yet.
Now I see why your hair looked nice after the cut, you were trying to get that down and those illustrations show you did - along with your hair results. I plan to get my hair trimmed professionally. I do not trust myself with scissors in my hair.

Hey Swoodward...
I bought DevaCurl during the holidays and took it back, because I was scared to try it and it didn't work! I guess I'll be good...since I know MiraCurl works for me. (I'm sure a product junkie)
Can't wait for your other two reviews!!!

Hey Dva, thanks!!!
I can get dull, yea? Anyway, I really wanted to understand what I see all the time - lots of curlies have great hair, but the best ones have control over their moisture and work with enhancing their texture. I really took a long, hard look at my hair. I work with woman (greek ancestry maybe?) with bushy curls that look like a giant angry hornets nest (yea, she has more fro than me!) and I think bad cuts + the wrong products are how she got there. No shine and her ends go every which way. I never want to treat my hair as though it was straight again.
My goal is to trim my hair twice a year IF NEEDED but I haven't found anyone I can trust to cut it the way I see the masters do in NY or MD. SO hopefully I am on the right track...I hope I won't need to trim until late fall.

Hi KNH,
I like it a lot, but it sounds like MiraCurl is pretty awesome. Besides, I need to hear the long term of that badboy anyway! I like Deva but I think I will only stick with two or three products in the end...I actually want to review the whole line but I am still checking out some of the products.

Re: Swoodward, working on retaining my growth - still working it out
I found my first fairy knot! That means my hair is getting long enough to knot!!! HAHA! Hooray!!!
(shhh about the part where I let it happen)
My signature style has become the twist out. I am not skilled enough yet to master the W&G and keep my hair moist. I did make a batch of Kimmaytube's leave in though. I wonder if she knows I am a stalker!!! maybe that's why the cops are outside!
Anyway, I got amazing results and will post more tomorrow with PICS...I'll get two more reviews out too.

Re: Swoodward, working on retaining my growth - still working it out
I have been a busy girl. I am sitting with my first henna gloss under a cap & towel and I tried Kimmay's leave in recipe this week.
I have to say Kimmaytube's leave in is amazing. I made one batch exactly as she described in her video.
I really like her vids overall. They are informative and interesting. The first thing I noticed about the leave in was that my hair felt smoother after I coated each section. It was very shiny when it dried. I was a bit heavy handed with my usual stuff and I didn't need to be. My hair was well moisturized and even after I slept on it (with bonnet no twists) , it kept it's shine. I wonder how my hair will react over time? We will see because this is now in my reggie for at least the next month.
Here is a pic with twists. and here it is out after 2 straight days of rain:
.
I also FINALLY got two more DevaCurl reviews up. They are
mist-er right is here and \heaven in hair is here .
I am off to visit! I'll post my henna results tomorrow or Sunday.
