Hey Swoodard! Just dropping by. Your hair looks GREAT! Just tried my Kimmaytube mixture at 1am!!! Ughh and I am now wide awake. That sucks. I did and quick co-wash and added the KT mix and did a TnC. My hair isn't completely dry but it feels so much softer already. The back which is completely natural feels GREAT!! Can't wait to see your Henna results. I think after I get this moisture thing down pat I will start doing some Henna stalking. Have a great day! Swoodward, working on retaining my growth - still working it out - Page 12 Icon_cheers

Hey SW! I haven't stopped by in forever. I hope all is well with you. I see you tried the henna gloss, too! As long as it was, I really enjoyed it overall! Can't wait to see your results! Is that leave-in fantastic?! I'm completely sold on it!

Great reviews. I'm looking forward to using the DevaOne at some point. I haven't been inclined to purchase the products, not sure why. I need to read up on them so I can see if they are right for me and my hair. I agree with you about the wash and go's. I have realized that I am just not good at them nor are they good for my hair. But I do like trying the different products to see if they will help with my wash n go. So much trial and error but it's fun.

Did a quick review of the colora henna powder. Not enough color in the colora so I have to redo my henna next weekend. Crap!!!
check out the LACK of color. Makes me look like the bald spot is back. It's not that it didn't color - there is chestnut - it's just not enough. Ordering more supplies from either B&B or Mehandi next weekend.

Kimmaytube leave in - IN the rotation. Week 2 and my hair is softer and smoother. Still in twists. Can’t believe the texture. It’s like someone elses hair!!

My cutie niece wore her first Wash & GO today. Curlynattie rocks. Check her out!Swoodward, working on retaining my growth - still working it out - Page 12 Dscf1418

Hi CCR, I hate late nite hair. Too easy to get caught up!! It sounds like your hair might really like the leave in. That's great.
So the back is completely natural! Uh oh - you are moving fast! Have a great day too!

The leave in is FANTASIC!!! Good to see you CG!
I liked the gloss but have to re-do. I always need a second and third try to be sure of anything anyway so...
You look amazing as usual!

Hey Dva, yea - i am mostly error with the wash and gos and the problem is after my hair dries. It gets SOOO DRY!!! Then it takes a week of twists and a ton of QB products to get it back in shape. I have no idea when this will be resolved so I am just going to try to be patient.

As for the DevaCurl, I got really small sizes first to see if I wanted to try, then large sizes. Unfortunately now I am looking for mega sizes!~! What a PJ!

Hey Poeticly! I had a productive weekend. Re-hennaing next weekend with mehandi yemen. I want to experiment with color - may be more brown and less red. I think I am going to try amla but I heard it is a little drying so I think I might mix with yogurt or something. Let me know about the cinnamon. It sounds interesting!

Have a great evening!

Your niece is ADORABLE! So cute. Because of the cut I had (due to breakage) the back was really short so I only have like 1/2 inch of relaxed hair and we just snipped that right off. I'm loving how my coils feel in the back. :-)

Hello!

I refuse to check your Deva Concepts reviews. I will check them at a much later date. The PJ in me is so daggone weak it's sickening.

Your niece is pretty--love her curls.

Seems like everyone loves the Kimmaytube LI. I, too, adore her videos. I think she is in the DMV area. If I were to see her out and about I would definitely be in awe and ask if I can have a hug.

Aw thanks CCR? She is BAAAADDD! But she is awfully cute!

It sounds like you have a great start because you already get to practice on some of your hair.

Hi Chrs!! I am scared to read a lot of stuff now. It seems like we have gone from almost nothing to a ton of choices in just the last few years for all kinds of hair. I was stunned when I saw the size of the ethnic hair care section at Walgreens! Where was this stuff when I needed help!! Pooh!

I hope you do get to read them though!

Thanks for the compliment about my niece. She has a great start.

I agree about Kimmay. She is a very interesting woman. I am so happy about the web because I would never have gotten to learn so much from her, or you, without it!

Post by swoodward 23rd July 2010, 9:56 pm

My hair has been very good to me! I have tried to be nice to it too. No heat styling, lots of conditioning, almost acceptable detangling, except for the almost acceptable part. I am kind of mad at myself because last night I felt a small section of the hair over my right ear that felt suspiciously like...breakage. I felt it a little more, then went into major denial. A few minutes into applying QB (ghee and honey balm - experimenting) I looked at my plastic comb. It was a soft plastic one and the teeth were bent around and it was snatching out my hair. How did this get by me? I dunno. I threw it out.

I hennaed last week with a henna I bought at Sally's and wasn't thrilled with the product. The color came out exactly as I wanted it but I feel like my hair is not as shiny in the newly hennaed part as the rest of my hair. Now if I got stuck and the was no other option I would get it. But I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it y'know?

Still I made a wonderful discovery: I went from a darker henna color to a lighter one. Cool!!!

Here's some pics from one day last week. I am a signature twistout type.

I never did get around to trying the bendy rollers. Maybe Sunday. Next mission - buy a new comb.

Hey Swoodward!!

Sorry it took me so long to get here!! I didn't know that they sold henna in BSS. Interesting.....

I love that picture of your neice...that's how my sons use to look after shopping with me back in the day. I can't get my oldest to go shopping with me now to save my life.

I like both pictures of you...even the Jessica Rabbit picture. lol! You are so rockin that hat!!

So my question is....do you think your comb contributed to your hair damage? I'm looking for a good comb as well. I have a large tooth comb, but I would like a regular small tooth comb for twisting.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Hey Swood,
Love the Alexis Carrington/Dominique Devereaux look on you. Remember Dynasty? There were a couple episodes, if not several, where one of those ladies rocked a fabulous big hat. You are working it!

That's interesting that you changed up your henna without any issues. I thought I read somewhere that people using BSS brands of henna had problems. And your color changed w/o incident.

Your niece is a cutie by the way.
