@Dva- I was going to say more about that story. I looked at her like WHAT?? I was taken aback honestly and I said "no... (pause), this is all mine". And she walked away saying something about getting done too. It was really kind of comical. People used to ask if my relaxed hair was a wig too and it was never long. So, like you said- they don't know that the hair from their roots can look shiny, healthy and all that.

@Sweet- it's all brainwash and conditioning. I've been there but I came to see the light without much provoking.

Today was LONG!!! Just got home from work, work related duties and I'm beat. I did a wash and go today and I didn't like it. Why? Because since I've been wearing my twist outs I haven't deal much with shrinkage. Im going to try it again tomorrow to see if I get some volume. But if it's the same, back to MY TWISTS!!

I feel you on the shrunken wash n go. My hair is usually stretched out from my braidouts and I recently did a wash n go and felt the same way.

Glad it's not just me Krazy Coils! It's insane and I don't mind it for a day but I need my hair back!

That's the reason I dont do wash n gos. I end up with a shrunken tangled mess on my hands.

Just checking in... Today was a super long day! I went to see the Cleveland Indians play with my team and it was super cold!! Like... less than 50 degrees. WTH?? I hid my curlies under my hoodie because it was windy and so much debris was flying about; not to mention the gulls and pigeons. So, I'm tired but I'm going to retwist the hair tonight in hopes of a super duper twist out tomorrow, one I won't need to hide from the elements. Hope everyone is having a good evening! And Happy Mothers Day!

The weekends go by so fast and I have been incredibly busy. Too busy to give Thelma the attention she likes! I mixed some henna but didn't use it yet and now I'm too darned tired. But I had a good Mother's Day. Here's to the work week and maybe just maybe I'll arrive home early enough one day this week to do that henna!

Hey lady! I feel you ... I did manage to make the henna happen, but after the DC'ing w/no heat as a result of the non-working of the steamer I spent $60 on, and now trying to suck some water out of these twists so I can seal them and put them in bantu knots that will not be dripping in the a.m. .... whew!! I feel you on the "I'm-just-too-tired" vibe.

However ...

@KNH- yes your color IS popping! Is your hair also feeling healthier? The wash and go is cool and I will still wear them from time to time but I've become spoiled by displaying some length via my twist outs!
@Lynnie- Hey girl! Waving back at ya! Happy belated Mothers day to you! Shoot- every day is Mother's Day though isn't it? My pastor talked of women being of God's devine design yesterday and I was digging it!

Well, this weekend I was feeling a little hair challenged... I co-washed my hair on Thursday evening and had a beautiful twist out the next morning. However, it was hot and by the end of the day, they became shrunken. This got me thinking about the summer months and my lack of a plan... Is that a sign that I should add glycerine to my regimen to combat the heat? I'm not sure?

On Friday night I retwisted and Saturday morning it looked good again; good meaning, stretched, moisturized, etc but I put a hood on because I was in the cold in Cleveland at an Indians game. Trash and debris were blowing about and I felt the need to protect Thelma. FF to Sunday, I had a decent looking twist out but didn't take pictures. Should have because Sunday is a blur... Nevertheless it looks similar today. This is with the SheaMoisture mask which can be left in as a "moisturizing styler" and my shea mix. Not bad, huh? I had been sticking to the curls line which I also love and will likely interchange the two. But this weekend I was feeling that less is more, particularly with the summer months approaching. What do you all do for summer?

The curls are looking gorgeous!! This will be my first summer fully natural so I'm trying to figure out a summer regimen also.
