I will I can't wait to try them, but I'm making myself leave my hair alone (outside of the fact that I can't stop touching it because it's so soft. LOL, good thing I put some oil on it every night before bed or it would probably be a desert. . . ) for the rest of the week, or I would be washing it RIGHT NOW *telling myself "must wait til at least Saturday"*

In the second day hair, nothing just fluffing. In the first pic I'd rolled the hair in the back on the rods of my satin rollers (without the sponge part on it) but I did them horizontally instead of vertically. After I took the twists out I put a headband on it to keep it out of my face. Oh, and I think I'm going to separate the twist out a little more today to make it puffier/less defined and put it into a puff since I'll probably wash it tomorrow or Saturday.poeticlyspkng wrote:So, what did you do to your hair in the pics?
and hey LS! (yes, I am up this early. I think my body is waking me up earlier and earlier because it's a sign I'll have a reason to be up this early soon. . . *praying*)

I don't drink the coffee until 30 minutes before my workout. . . Plus, I don't think my dad made it yet

OMG! I LOVE this puff! It even makes me not want to wash my hair yet (which I've been wanting to do since like Tuesday ~lol~)
I used some Elasta QP Gel that BSD sent me, the gel isn't hard at all. After taking my spray bottle and wetting the edges that would be slicked down, I took some of the gel and put it on the edges, then I took a rat-tail comb and combed the hair back to where the puff would be. After I got my headband on to hold the puff I put on a scarf to tie down the edges, it's been on probably for a couple of hours. That's it for the puff part.
For the back I took the twist-out that I'd already had and went through and split all of the pieces that were so defined in the previous pictures to make it fluffier and fuller (and bigger). While doing this I had some Jojoba Oil on my hands.
That's it. Did I mention I love this puff? In fact, I love it even more than the ones I did when I was transitioning and had longer hair. This puff is just awesome

And my hair isn't colored in any way in case anyone was wondering. LOL I've been getting a little sun lately, so my hair is going to lighten up.

I think it may be good for WNGs too, I'll try that next time, but it's slicked my hair down and it's not hard or anything, it's still super soft. I did a test coil last night using the Elasta and it looked pretty good, so I'll probably use it for the coil out too. But this puff is great, I think I may do all of my future puffs from old twist-outs. . .
And thanks
And thanks

Nice puff. I'll be looking forward to your review of the Shea Moisture products. I really, really like the deep treatment masque too and it does smell good enough to eat.
Why did you decide to start shampooing vs. just co-washing?

Thanks! It doesn't help that it also LOOKS edible. . . LOL
My scalp has been itching something fierce lately, and I know you aren't supposed to get conditioner on your scalp really, so I think that may be part of it. Plus, while conditioners DO cleanse (I find Aussie Moist to be the best at "cleaning" my hair) they aren't meant to be cleansers. So I'm going to wash at least once a week with shampoo, if I feel like washing after that, then I'll just co-wash.
