All caught up on you thread. Your hair looks good. Can't wait to see pics of your BC. Only 20 days left right?
Good luck on the job interview and keep up the good work with your exercise. You're doing great and are an inspiration.
~Dva
btw good luck with the interview!

Thanks Dva! 19 days now *starts to hyperventilate ~lol~*

Oh, my hair is STILL in the twists. Last night before putting the rollers on the end, I put on a little more of my Shea butter mix (I LOVE that stuff!) to moisturize--- not because my hair was DRY mind you, but because I wanted an excuse to touch it more even though I touch it all the time now. I have serious Hand in Hair syndrome, someone help! LOL, it's not going to get any better after I BC. . .

Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
here's the twistout:
I couldn't get a good pic without the flash, but you can get the general idea. LOL
I ended up pinning the left back after twisting it, I was going to do the same thing to the right, but I changed my mind and decided to leave it down a bit, I did pin the bottom twists back because I didn't like they way they were hanging. I also pinned the very back up (just under itself) because I didn't like the way the ends were hanging.
All I did was separate them, no fluffing of the roots or anything like that. Overall I love the results! My shea butter mix was a huge success as far as I'm concerned
Okay, now to go knock this job interview out of the park, pray for me I really WANT this job and more importantly I NEED this job

Hey Nubie, thanks I think I did well, but right now I'm a nervous wreck waiting to hear if I got the job. I REALLY want this job, and more importantly I NEED a job.
Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
Ok so first of all, your twistout is FAB!!!! I never had that definition while transitioning (not that I can recall anyway. lol)
And secondly, prayers are going up! I'm CLAIMING that job in faith because God is your provider so He'll work it out for you

Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
I have no idea why I can't quote. . . but
@sweetdrk1: Thanks! The longer I sit here the less confident I feel
@bholmes: part of me thinks it was my shea butter mix, and part of me thinks it's because I did it on wet hair and let it air dry. I know I'm in the twist challenge, but I don't think I'm going to be ready to take this style down and re-twist this weekend. LOL, we'll see. And thanks for the prayers, every little bit helps. . .

Permed ends are the bane of my existence. LOL, I can't wait until my natural hair reaches the length my hair is now. The part of my twistout that was natural hair held pretty well, but those damned permed ends are just all over the place. ~sigh~
On a totally random and unrelated note, I've been watching Entourage on HBO onDemand this week, and that show is pretty funny! I wish I'd started watching it sooner. I could do with a little less cussing and nudity, but overall it's a highly entertaining show ~lol~

Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
I was talking to my cousin at church yesterday and he mentioned how his wife had cut all of her hair off (she'd done it before) and I told him I was cutting mine in 2 weeks and he was excited about it. I guess I'm going to have to cut it off. . . LOL, time to plan. And since you are so excited, I hope that means you'll be sending me stuff!
Anywhoo, so I didn't wash my hair and re-twist like I was supposed to yesterday (I had no motivation), so I'll do that today. My scalp is itching something fierce, so I'll do an ACV rinse too and make sure my scalp is good and clean even though I shouldn't have any buildup. . .

Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
When I do an ACV rinse I just co-wash as normal and then I put in the ACV rinse which is just ACV and water. I've started putting it in a spray bottle because it's less messy that way, after I get it all over my hair and finish finger detangling as I go I put on the shower cap and let it sit for about 5 minutes then rinse in cold water. Then I put in my DC, and I still use Castor Oil for that. Once again I've fallen off when it comes to putting CO on my scalp regularly. LOL, I think it's just not meant to be.
But you should try my shea butter mix, that stuff is the bomb, and my twistout was the bomb

Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
I don't remember what the ratio was for the rinse, but you don't need a lot of ACV or water So I wanna say it's like One tablespoon of ACV to one cup of water. . . For some reason I haven't written down my ratio anywhere

Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
Hey Muz- your twist outs are looking pretty phenomenal. Your approaching BC will make them all the more beautiful. Let me know if you need some moral support that day. I can come and look thru the window!
Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
Less than 2 weeks and the relaxer will be gone!!! I can't wait to see your curls in all their glory
Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
@ Lynnie: yeah, I know. . . LOL
@ Tiff: I think you may actually be more excited about it than I am right now. LOL!
@ Poetic: Thanks! I absolutely loved it, especially the natural parts, I like my twist-outs with bigget twists. . . I'll let you know if I need support, I'm still figuring out exactly how I'm going to do this. . .
@ Bholmes: Me too, washing/detangling today hasn't been fun because of the straight ends. My fingers would get through the curly parts just fine, but then when I got to the straight parts my fingers would get all tangled up, not cool

Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
Okay, I have a twist-out tip for my long term transitioning sistahs who are in their last months. Do the twists on WET hair (embrace the shrinkage in my case) and let them air dry (they actually dry REALLY fast compared to other air-drying methods. Then take the ends and roll them on the rods of sponge rollers (take the sponge part off). I do them vertically as opposed to horizontally for the more spiral effect. Then roll the hair up to your natural hair, so all of your permed ends are rolled onto the rod. This does two things, it keeps your hair from unravelling at the ends when you're sleeping and it hides the two textures when you rock the twist out because the permed ends will be shrunken up (a lot).
Here's my hair right before my last twist-out:
Notice how the ends are curly but the natural part is just in the twists? And when I took them out I got the results that you saw in a previous post from last Friday. Basically this method makes it easier for your natural hair to do what it does. . . dominate the permed ends
Here's my hair right now. I did smaller twists so I'd be able to go out with them in public if need be (I can just pin them to cover the parts, I usually just wing that.
I won't be taking this down until Friday probably since I'm committed to that twist challenge. LOL
I suppose this is just how to make a TnC work for transitioners, but I don't really think of it as a TnC because you wouldn't just be rolling the very ends . . .
I'm sure this could work on all transitioners, but if you roll up all of your hair and you only have like 1-2 inches of new growth it may just end up looking curly instead of like a twist out
Anyway, I hope that helps someone!
ETA: Bonus clip of natural part of hair after DCing yesterday:
That's an old t-shirt on my hair, I've started using those to dry instead of towels thanks to a tip from one of my Big Sisters

11 days and counting....I'm excited for you! Please lean on us as the day approaches. We are beside you in this and would like to help you.
Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
thanks It's funny, earlier I was thinking "only 11 days? Why wait?" LOL, but Imma make myself wait since it's only 11 days. Here's hoping I don't chicken out before then
Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
Your journal is gorgeous ! Thanks for the tip; tonight as I re-braided, I was wondering how to make the relaxed part blend in better! I will try it ! I love the idea of removing foam.
