Re: bholmes87: twist challenge week 5!! Let's get it in!
Loving the puff and can't wait for the wash n go pics!
I know it's hard for the kids these days but I don't wanna hear it! I rocked a baldie when I was in high school (I'll dig up some pics) so I know all about swimming against the mainstream. It can be hard but high and middle school are the times to start steeling yourself against society because society wants to you to blend in. In this day and age individuality isn't really celebrated, herd mentality is. One of the most beautiful things about embracing your Natural hair is that it is unique to you. No one is going to have your exact hair. Even when you try out a style you've seen on someone else, it comes out different than theirs. Hmmm is there some kind of Natural Youth Outreach? We should start one!

But you're so right about our secret society. I honestly feel like no one else understands how excited I am when a style finally comes out the way I wanted it too! That's why I love have you guys But yeah baby sis betta recognize! It's NEVER too young to have confidence in yourself. I only wish someone would have educated me on natural hair in middle school or high school
Thanks for the advice! I love hear from you NN, truly I do!! <=== this is like the weirdest smiley ever! I don't understand it but I love it! lol

You're such a sweetheart!! Thanks jcanalena!jcanalena79 wrote:bholmes87 wrote:Oh yeah for some reason I really wanted to count the number of twists I had in my head so the grand total was:
DRUMROLL PLEASE!!!!

120 TWISTS! No wonder it took so long to twist them. Jeez Louise!! lol
see...I now have a WHOLE new level of respect for you!!! OMG, my limit has been 10, lol. I think if I tried really hard, I could double that since I do about 20 in my daughter's hair. Whew, 120. Damn!
It was worth the work, though, b/c your twistouts are looking awesome!! And I love the puff too ... you can still see the curls/coils in it !
Yeah it took a lot of patience and time (like 4 hours!) but it lasted for almost 2 weeks if I include the twist out.
Thanks sis!! And I agree we should totally start a Natural Youth Outreach! I hope you find some pics of when you were a baldie cuz I would love to see themFemmeFox wrote:Loving the puff and can't wait for the wash n go pics!bholmes87 wrote:NubieNatty wrote:

Thanks so much Karyn!!! I'm trying to step the fashion game up! You can't walk around with flyy hair and then be all busted you know?Karyn wrote:Woo! I love your hair. Oh and your outfits always look so cute (well from what I can see of them haha)
Re: bholmes87: twist challenge week 5!! Let's get it in!
oooooh honey that wash in go should definitely be put into rotation this spring. I love it! It would take a ton of product to get my hair to curl like that so I'll just admire all your curls So cute!

Thanks AL!!! Even though you won't have my curls, your hair is sooooo lovely so just work with what you gotAfrikanLatina wrote:oooooh honey that wash in go should definitely be put into rotation this spring. No problemo. Lol agreed! Most naturals I see are fly though. My grandma that's natural (been rockin' a TWA since my mom was a kid) has amazing style

Aww thanks guys!!!!! It's the least I can do though. I gotta keep up with all the amazing hair days that everyone else seems to be having over and over and over and over and over again!!
I think it just gets easier to have a great hair day when you take care of your hair all the time. That MUST be why both of your crowns of glory look so splendid

Thanks LaToya!!!! I love your avatar by the way! It's so pretty-fullLaToya28 wrote:Wow, very nice WnG!
Thanks JnB!!! I did Magahony Curls accordion technique for this WnG! I think it's important that you know I did it on an old twistout because that might have been why there was so much clumping going on! Here's what I did:Juices-n-Berries wrote:Great wash and go! Your curls are awesome! What products and technique did you use?
1. I rinsed my twistout in the shower and got it really wet.
2. I put some Tresemme Anti Sponge conditioner on my hair.
3. I layered another conditioner on top of it (a generic brand leave-in that is supposed to imitate something by Paul Mitchell).
4. I finger detangle my hair. No comb used! So the twist out wasn't completely altered.
5. I put some more of the generic brand conditioner on my hands and began to scrunch the way MC did in her video.
6. I put my head under the running water for 5 seconds to evenly distribute the conditioner.
7. I used my spray bottle (with water, Infusium 23, V05 conditioner, glycerin and oil) to get my hair wet again and scrunched a little more.
8. I used some paper towels to get some excess moisture out of my hair. I used the same scrunching motion with the paper towels as I did with the conditioner.
And voila! That's how I did the WnG
It's actually pretty easy even though there's a lot of steps. And I didn't follow MC's directions exactly so there's room for changing it up to fit your hair!
Thanks truet! I actually only used conditioner in my hair so I didn't use anything extra. I wish I had some shea butter or other hair butter because if I did, that's what I would use to retain moisture!truet wrote:girl love those curls and that is cute that you named your hair what do you use to maintain moisture after hair dries?
But since I don't, I just leave in some conditioner and go on my way
Aww thanks MellowOne!!!!! You will probably have crazy thickness! Plus your hair is gonna grow with the quickness! But that Amber Rose cut is so FIERCE on you!!MellowOne wrote:You have beautiful hair. <= that will be you real soon!
