Yes, I sat under the hooded dryer. I have tut up on YT right now. I sat under that darn dryer for an hour! lol! It is a rollerset and silk wrap. No direct heat. I do not care for spritz, or flat irons on my hair...never really did. (even when i was relaxed)...my aunt used to curl my hair with the marcel irons, but that was only every two weeks...(when i was relaxed) and she never left them in the "stove" too long..then i started getting rollersets, bc i loved the body. And it was much healthier. Okay going off...you havent seen the vid yet?
BTW, I love your hair!

Thanks lol and i loved ur twa! before i cut my hair i actually showed my mom your picture and told her thats how i wanted my hair. She said that i could only get it that way if i got a texturizer but i refused. (at the time she wanted me to get one) I could have told her that i probably just needed to find the right products but since im still a kid, adults dont takes my opinion too seriously on serious matters. so i just kept quiet. But as long as i dont get that texturizer im good!

Thank. Ok - this is the way I use to do my roller sets as well. No flat irons at all. I used saran wrap for a sleeker/straighter look too. I may try this. What size rollers did you use. I have some pink magnetic rollers.

I used the red ones (i would considered them to be medium...and the large purple ones...i can fit the grey ones (jumbo) yet..maybe in about 6 months...Yes, i love the saran wrap treatment.

Girl, you are doing your thing. I wish I would have went natural at 16. Dont get the texturizer, your hair is beautiful! You do not need all of that. A texturizer is just a mild relaxer. That is it...I know how mothers can be. I am 23 and my momma still thinks she knows everything (she probably does, but still..lol!) You will be fine!

lol i told her it was a mild relaxer too and she said it was different because it would "loosen" my curls and make it more managable. i wanted to go into all the stuff i learned from researching texturizers online but instead i just told her that i wanted to wait til my hair grew out before putting anything in it because i dont know what im working with yet (and how unmanagable can 2 inches of hair be anyway?), and frankly i dont mind dedicating my time to detangle my natural hair. Itll give me and my hair a moment to bond lol. Through my 16 years of living, ive learned that when it comes to adults, you either have to agree or curve the conversation. Theres no winning, simple as that.

Ok your hair is fa-BU-Lous with two snaps Totally love it and I definitely need a dryer cause it definitely limits my range of style my hair take for-EVER to dry.

Hey lady, I enjoyed your video on roller set/silk wrap. I have actually roller set before not even using the hood dryer. No heat what so ever. I did not do the saran wrap though because I wasn't looking for really flat hair. You should try the no heat at all method. That way, if you like it, then you can do roller sets more often without worrying about heat. Just sleep overnight with your rollers. Just one night....lol. Then you can pin curl or do the saran wrap afterwards.

MC - see now you got me wanting to try the roller set w/saran wrap this wknd. I also want to try the wash-n-go with the eco styler gel ... when you didn that last video with eco styler - did you use a leave-in befor applying gel to whole head - did you use any oil before or after?
Also I got big purple rollers too! I see you used large one - gives a looser curl ... I like that idea
Decisions, Decisons ....

I was thinking of doing a no heat roller set myself since I don't have a dryer. I'm glad to know that just sleeping on the rollers should be just as effective! Do you know if the saran wrap would work if I just used a blow dryer for heat while my hair is wrapped?
Re: MahoganyCurls- Herllo!!!! (In Madea's voice....lol!)
I really don't know about the saran wrap at all, Bh. When I do my roller sets they are usually smooth and bouncey and light. And I am not necessarily looking for more straightness. Maybe MC can answer that for you.
You can see how the roller set looks without heat on my thread(early portion). I don't like posting pics on of myself on other people's thread, you know...lol .

Hi MC~
As always your videos are on point. You give a lot of detailed steps which is what people are looking for when they are searching YT for tutorials and tips.
Love you and your hair....looking forward to more of your videos!

Great Idea! I will definitely have to try that. I hate sleeping in rollers though. I may have to wake VERY early in the morning and do it one day. But I think I will stick to wearing the straight hair 1x a year...I will tell you why in a second! Lol!

Blow dryer should work...even you natural body heat should work..it will probably take longer though. Give it a shot!
