How are you gonna run a company for naturally curly/kinky hair and your hair so damaged you have to literally curl it with a CURLING IRON because it's so straight?! I am rolling over here LOL. That is just too funny.

Okay!!! I thought the same thing, but there are curlies that can live without Miss Jessies!!! LOL

I agree. I was just smh, smh. The thing that got me tho is that she admitted it as though it wasn't a problem. Even if it was true, I wouldn't have said it because it didn't really have any value to the discussion. That's what makes me raise my eyebrow even further...

SMH at Miss Jessie's folks. I no longer use her products. Her products give great twist/twist out results but on day 3 or 4, my hair would feel icky and I didnt like. I gave my jar to a curly at my church. She loves it.

Thanks Lynn. I am pretty tall for a girl but I'm sure u can relate. Also my build makes me look even smaller. Lol.

I'll try the products but I'm a bit skeptical. We shall see...

JnB, I thank you for your honest opinion of the event. I don't care for Miss Jessie's products at all. But I am happy that you were able to see another CN naturalista, Latoya. That is cool. We need a CN national meet up.

Yes, they did it as a demo with the products. I believe they used the Baby Buttercreme and it was a dry twistout.

Great pics JnB!! Miss Jessie's products worked great on my hair, but you have to make sure you use a moisturizer underneath them. I just can't afford to maintain them. I still have an almost full tub of Curly Meringue, actually. I decided to go pretty much all natural in my products so it ended up in the sale/swap tub. But that's the only reason. It worked well for me for definition and softness.

I have the curly meringue as well, and I like the results but I didn't like how my hair felt after I used the products. However, MJ was my saving grace when I bc'ed cause that's all I had for 2 weeks!! So I will not speak against them, and wish them well!!!

Hmmmm. Well I will let you guys know how it turns out. But I probably won't use them for a while. In today's hair news, I think my hair is very unhappy with me. It's been out ever since the faux blow out. I twisted it the day after and have been rocking this chunky twist out that's turned into a fro of sorts. And I'm finding lots of fairy knots as I run my fingers through my hair. Also, I've got some scalp build up. I need to wash. Quick.

great pics, i love mae! i feel you on mj's though, i want to try a SAMPLE size of curly pudding which they really should sell in target as well. my permed sister likes the curly buttercreme and i agree w/lynnie, u get good results with the BB but after awhile it feels icky. its definitely all i pretty used for a good 2 months of my bc but i hate u cant mix it with anything.

i always wondered how they keep their hair big n curly when they use heat so much but that lil straight piece is the price u pay! even after i had to drown my head under the water for a good 20 min to put down my blown out fro, i realized how much i loooooooove my curls. i'll straighten it out MAYBE for my year anniversary but im still on the fence about it.

i've been screaming for a CN CRUISE for a minute now! i cant wait to meet you all.

I feel the same way. I wouldn't mind straightening my hair at the year mark, but I am such a chicken. I just don't want to mess it up. I've been missing my curls too. I think after I wash I may wear wash and gos for a like a week! Lol.

Yeah that doesn't make too much sense to use that much heat on your hair when you're caring for natural heads that are fragile ... smh but the pics are great!!! I love Mae too

They didn't just talk about it either. They used it in all their demos. It was just a blowdryer though, but they had it so high, that there was smoke coming from it. And during one demo, they were like, that's not her hair smoking, that's the product.

So, now I'm gonna show ya'll some pics of the hairstyle I wore to the Celebration. It started off as a pretty defined twistout. I did it on the faux blowout, so it's uber stretched. I didn't add any product because it already had enough. See...



















And as you can see as the day progressed it kept getting bigger and bigger. Here's the next day. This is how I wore it at the Celebration. I got lots of compliments...

The last 3 are webcam photos so please excuse the quality. Lol. Anywho. I really like how my hair just started to do it's own thing without me. Lol. I just left it be and it turned into something pretty cool. However, like I said, it's definitely time to wash. But I'm in a hurry. So I've re-twisted and will do my signature chunky twist out puff tonight. I'll wash tomorrow or friday.

I have to give a small shout out to Miss Jessie's. I have a very sensitive scalp and many products irritate my scalp (including most of those that are considered natural) but, MJs Sensitive Sniffer Curly Pudding works without irritation for my wash n go. I think I may have an issue with aloe thus, the problem with some of the more natural products.

On Miss Jessie's: I have some baby butter creme and curly pudding sitting on my product shelf. I liked them and my hair felt moisturized with it, but I noticed that I would always have to shampoo them out. They were blocking my hair from soaking up water! YIKES!!

Now on to these twistout photos. Fabness! I like the way it "grew" over time.
