Mini Two Strand Twist Up-Keep
So, last night I spent a good 2-3 hours mini two strand twisting my hair. It looked really good (no pics, of course) then I realized that I have no idea how to tie it up, if I tie it up; or how to make it look "good" again in the morning! So I tied it up with my satin scarf, pinned some of the twists down that I thought might move during the night and I woke up looking CRAZY!!! So, then, I came on the forum looking for tips on how you ladies rejuvenate your two strand twists and I came up empty handed. I don't know what to do. I planned on leaving the twists in all week until the weekend but I need help: How do you ladies rejuvenate your two strand twists in the a.m.? Please help me...I'm desperate!

I just put minitwists in my hair yesterday too! lol. Last night I just tied my scarf around it and in the back I banded that part. The back was hanging out of the scarf so I just put a bonnet on too. This morning all I did was spritz (which felt so good on my scalp) and sealed with a little coconut oil. It still looks just as fresh as when I did them. HTH!

My picture is pretty old...my hair is about 8 inches stretched. Certainly long enough for mini two strands, right?

Re: Mini Two Strand Twist Up-Keep
I am currently in mini twist. I use a bobby pin to pin the ones in the front back to keep them stretched. Then I tie them down with a scarf and put my bonnet on for the ones that hang out of the scarf.
I wake up in the morning, take the bobby pins out and give my hair a good shake and voila. I'm done. If my hair needs to be moisturized, I usually do it at night. I use light products when moisturizing to cut down on build up.
Products I use:
Butters n Bars Aloe Spritzer and coconut oil or Taliah Waajid Protective Mist Bodifier and coconut oil
I hope this helps.

@Lynnieluve- So, then, does it have to do with the thickness of the hair? From your pic, your hair looks pretty thick, mine... not so much. When I woke up this a.m., my hair was flat (and shrunken despite the strategically placed bobby pins).

Even though I use bobby pins, my still shrink....just not as much if I don't use any. As for your hair being flat, maybe thickness/density has something to do with it So what did you end up doing?

I have, what is probably a dumb question. What are 'mini' twists? How are they different from regular twists?

Re: Mini Two Strand Twist Up-Keep
I bought some hair curlers a few months ago so I put them in and spritzed my hair with a little water, conditioner mix. I let it dry, then I took the curlers out. It looked a little better but not really up to par. Unfortunately I didn't have time to do anything better (since I slept in later than I was supposed to). Tomorrow, I'll try pinning some pieces up (including the back of my hair). I still plan on keeping them in until the weekend.

When I do mini twists, I just put on a bonnet. In the morning I shower minus the bonnet or shower cap and kind of let the steam work its magic. (and my hair is on the thin/fine side as well)

@kekesmom29- Would you mind putting up a picture of your hair in the twists? And what kind of satin bonnet do you use? I use a satin scarf.

i like to wrap my twists around the head like when i was relaxed/permed. also, and this may sound weird but i like to clip up one side (left or right) with a duck clip and the other side with a duck clip. this seems to add lift and let the twists hang better.

Re: Mini Two Strand Twist Up-Keep
I have mini twist in my hair now and do the same thing as kekemoms29 - I wear a satin bonnet to bed and just lightly spritz and shake in the morning. When they start to get frizzy, I just pin them up in an up-do.

Your hair is definitely thicker than mine. Yours look really good: nice and defined! Thanks for posting
And thank you to all the other ladies, also! Feel free to continue to give me tips. I know this is not the end of the sage for me...
