3 strand twist out Empty 3 strand twist out

Post by SasahT 1st December 2010, 3:17 am

I have been natural since July 2010, and since the big chop I've experimented with lots of styling options. This summer I pretty much just did wash and goes b/c every time I tried a twist out my hair just came out super frizzy. About 2 months ago I attempted a braid out, because it was getting to cold to do wash and goes all the time. The braid out came out decent, it was more defined than the twist out but still somewhat frizzy. A week ago I tried a 3 strand twist out. OMG, I fell in love! My hair literally came out perfect!. With the 3 strand twist out my hair is nicely stretched with the definition of a wash and go. This is definitely my new go to style!! Has anyone else tried this and had different results that the 2 strand? For anyone that has issues with a 2 strand or braid outs, I definitely recommend that you try the 3 strand.

It's actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it. It's just like braiding but instead of bringing the outside strand in the middle of the two other strands, you put the outside strand on the other side of the last strand. That probably doesn't make much sense, hehe. I didn't get how to do it either until I watched some youtube video's.

As for pics, I just retwisted my hair tonight, so I'll post pics tomorrow!

Here are the pics of my 3 strand twist out this is a re-twist though. I freshly washed and twisted 4 days ago and then last night re-twisted with a coco-shea mixture. It's nicely defined here, but actually more defined when I do it with a fresh wash Ill have to take pics next time I wash.
