I will be on my way to Atl later on today. My bf's sister told me that there is a lady with a booth at the Stone Crest Mall, she sells eye shadow palletts and things. Now why would she tell me that???????!!!!! SMDH.

@Brandi - making a note to myself to stay away from Stonecrest Mall(lol). They also have a kiosk and a store that sell natural hair products so I definitely need to stay away.

I finally got my UD Naked Palette! Well I ordered it! Heck I ordered two, one for the bestie...her birthday is around the corner! And that's it! No more makeup!

I was checking out UD site earlier... I'm thinking about getting the Naked Palette. I just recently purchased my firs UD product, the Preen Shadow Box. I fell in love.

@MissyCee - I usually go there before I purchase something to check out the reviews. They are pretty good at giving descriptions of the color whether its shimmery, matte, etc.

Another good site is Karlasugar.net. She has swatches of everything from eyeshadows, eyeliner, blush,lipsticks, etc. If you really want to know how a color looks up close check out her site.

OMG, your eye looks are always so pretty and diverse. How do you use so many colors without all them blending together?

I end up making a new color when I try these looks! lol!

I do my best to place the color in the middle of the area I am working with. I blend the light color into the darker color to help with shading. I often go back to the middle to pack on more color. I hope this makes sense. I learned this best from TheFancyFace on YT.

Hey EVERYBODY!!! I'm here. I am a beginner. Here is my latest eyeshadow attempt. Pointers please!!! BTW: This was after wearing the makeup about 5 hrs.

I used the "cheat sheet" eyeshadow....you know the one that tells you were to put the colors on your eyes.

Also, I need to know the best, cheap, beginner brushes...like Target cheap.

Lynnie- looks good!! I do the cheat sheet too! ELF- Eyes Lips Face brushes are sold at Target and the Dollar General. Sonya Kashuk is another line of brushes. People rave about those on Youtube

Hey Lynnie and Welcome to the Makeup thread!

Love the look, I would just pack the color on a little more. Did you use a primer or base under the shadow? As Nyla mentioned cheap brushes at Target are the Sonia Kushiak brushes and the E.L.F. Brushes. Most of the Elf brushes are $1, get the flat Elf eyeshadow brush it will really help you to pack on the eyeshadow on your eye area. I also like the Elf powder and blush brushes also a dollar. The Sonia Kushiak small eyeshadow brush, and blending brush are also good and I think these are five or six dollars. These are the best ones at Target IMO. HTH

CHRS Love that look! Sweet i put concealer on my lips all the time when I go for a nude look. So it is definately not a mistake! I had a cute orange look this weekend when going to a party but forgot take pics!

Ok so..... I went to Atl to the bbs but all I got was some Shea Butter, organics coconut stimulating growth oil, african cocoa butter stick, and a sinful colors lip gloss. I only spent $27 so I did pretty good for a change!! I have been using extra virgin coconut oil on my face and I have noticed that I do not get as shiny as usually do (shoulder shrug). Who woulda thunk it! I have been putting it on for about 4 days now and I have not picked up my blot powder at all, and I usually use it like 3 or 4 times during the day and I am just sitting here at my desk. I am going to continue to use the coconut oil as part of my daily skin routine. Well, I guess I gotta go get some work done!

I think you did a good job Lynn and there's nothing wrong with the cheat sheet. lol!

I love using Wet N' Wild (Walgreens/CVS/Rite Aid) eyeshadow palettes because they give me a better idea of color combos and they are stamped with the area to put the color. Plus they are inexpensive and give great color payoff!

& I'm with KC and Nyla: I started out using ELF brushes and went from there...

@lynnie- welcome cuz u been lurkin a loooong time! if u dont have primer u can use concealer, i use it on a whim myself but nothin beats a good primer.

@sweet-look at u stumblin across "mistakes" and makin em FAB!! i use concealer too for my nude lips and i also dab some on for more stayin power!
