Satin, silk, and polyester scarves Empty Satin, silk, and polyester scarves

Post by MissFierce21 3rd December 2009, 2:02 am

So I was trying to purchase scarves, and it clearly says satin, but the material says __%polyester, allmost always 100%. Then I google satin, and I found out that satin is made from a variety of fabrics, mostly polyester, but at times, silk.

My question is, do any of you ladies wear polyester scarves, and if so does it dry out your hair?

My satin polyester scarves were fine, they didn't dry out my hair like cotton ones did.

But once I got a real silk scarf I could tell the difference. The polyester ones were absorbing some of the moisture from my hair while my silk one doesn't do that. I got it from prettywrap.com if you want to check it out.

Thanks Maysay for that website. Im going to get the ivory one because I havent seem a 100% silk scarf for that cheap. (Even though I know the ivory will get dirty quickest, Im not leaving the house with it on).

I love my prettwrap. I got the ivory one as well since it was the cheapest. It does get dirty but I just throw it in the washing machine on cold and then let it airdry.

I just ordered an ivory one from prettywrap.com...I'll report back with my review after I've received it and worn it for awhile! Excited over a scarf! How sad! LOL!

Good forum topic! I went to the "Pretty Wrap" website and and ordered one in white. Right now I sleep with a fake satin polyester blend. It doesn't rip my hair out but, I think it might be pulling out the moisture. Thanks for the suggestion.

I got my wrap! I ordered the white/ivory one. Of course it's very soft and silky being that it's silk, but I really love the design of the wrap! It stayed on all night, and my hair wasn't dry at all in the morning! Well worth about $14! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
