Coil Outs
Hey, I am contemplating trying a coil out tonight or tomorrow. Has anyone tried this method? If so, what products did you use. Please give me any pointers that I should know before attempting this style.
Thanks,
Chevonne

Re: Coil Outs
I did some coils (then a coil out two days later) on a ponytail. I used my regular conditioner and some oil. I am scared to do it all over because I think it would be a hassle to detangle after a few days.
Re: Coil Outs
Hey Pinkrage! I did like a twist and coil on my hair recently and a twist out with the ends coiled...and I AM SO IN LOVE! the style will probably last a week + (for me on a twa) and ive received many compliments....i think u should try and keep us posted!

Re: Coil Outs
Hello Pinkrage,
I've rocked coils for almost a year, I love it as a protective hairstyle. I usually keep the coils in for one week then do a coil-out for the second. I co-wash, deep condition, leave in conditioner the add gel to each section of hair that I am coiling.

Re: Coil Outs
Thanks for the tips JoyCurl. I just sent my daughter off so that I can get a break. I am about to do my hair now.
Re: Coil Outs
OK, I did my coils yesterday. They are still coiled since I didn't go anywhere. I will uncoil them in the morning before I go to work. I work from home on Monday's [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] !
Last night I just put the coils up in a high ponytail. Once I uncoil them should I still do a high pony tail. I sleep on a satin pillowcase. How do I refresh the curls if any of them flatten out? I can't wait to uncoil them.
I didn't do the coils small enough to wear out in public. Right now I am looking real Snoop Doggish, LOL!

Re: Coil Outs
I would love to see the results of this style. I am thinking about doing a coil out on my TWA
Re: Coil Outs
Hey,
Although I was running late this morning separating these darn coils. I took time to take pictures. I hate taking my own pictures because I always seem to look CRAZY [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] !
Anyway, I will post them this evening so that you can see the results. The curls seems more defined on one side compared to the other, so tonight I might recoil a few on my left side.
I have received compliments at work on them. I just thought they were ok but hey...if you like them...I love them, LOL! I will work them the next few days.

Re: Coil Outs
The one thing that I can say about the coils is that it keeps my length. There is not a lot of shrinkage. I used Long Aid activater gel and the curls are soft. That is good to the touch but I am wondering if soft curls = not lasting long. We'll see!
@CKF- I would love to see how they look on long hair as well. Please send link so that I can see.

Re: Coil Outs
OK, here is a picture of my coils wet. I put clips on the roots at the top of my hair to smooth it down a little (don't know if it was necessary but it was something I did)

Here is my hair dry, but still coiled (my snoop doggish look)

Here it is uncoiled for work

Re: Coil Outs
I might do them smaller next time. If I do, then I will definitely wear them coiled for a few days before uncoiling them.
