CANOLA OIL to deep condition!!!

Hey ladies. So as I am sending messages back and forth to the ladies on here about deep conditioning, a thought pops into my mind....because EVOO can be a little pricy, I wonder if I can use canola oil in place of it. So...I googled it!!! In case anyone is interested in saving a few dollars...here you go....

HAhaha!!!! You can mix em too!!! I have em both too that's what gave me the thought. That 2nd link i posted said you can pretty much use any veg oil as long as it's all natural!! Good to know, huh?

heck yeah!!!! so...................many..................oils.....................and i still didnt get no castor oil and i was just at walgreens

LOL i think any oil should do but olive oil and coconut oil are the best since they penetrate the hair instead of coating it but that's really good to know thanks KRis

There are a few CN followers that use canola &/or vegetable oils. There are also CN ladies using Crisco shortening on their hair.

Crisco??? hmm, I think I'll stick to the reguar natural oils!! LOL

I've never used Crisco, but I know 3 different females whose hair (4a/b) is natural, gorgeous, and past bra strap length who use it as their staple. One said, she uses it in place of coconut oil because her hair hates it and makes it straw-like. She swears by this shortening. One thing I can say though, the shine on all 3 of those women is head turning. I sure am curious and may just give it a try once I've used up the too many oils I already own. I never laugh or knock anyone's regimen especially when the results speak loud and clear that something is being done the RIGHT way here.

Just as a note....you can get EVOO from Walmart for 4.67!

I believe so Tiff. That's the only kind I know of. I actually searched for this on Youtube and there's this one woman who is "shampooing" her hair with it and it's all over her face too. OMG! I am always scared about getting stuff in my eyes! Its prolly is does make your skin soft though. Isn't Crisco like some kinda fat...?

MMM interesting crisko on the hair WOW i will try it once but i may be the only person that don't have crisko in my house smh

girl i don't have any!!! LOL i may have bought ONE can my whole life and I think that was only because a recipe called for it. needless to say I didn't use the whole can. ended up trashing it I guess. LOL

yup, it's hydrogenated vegetable oil. Many hair butters use this, so I can see how it would be good on hair. It's just strange for me. I just think biscuits when I see the can lol

See and the thing is though, to EAT hydrogenated oils is a bad thing because it clogs arteries and causes high BP...But I guess for the hair it's a different thing since we're not ingesting it.
