@intelligentbeauty thank you!!!!
@d.denise yes those curlformers are a must!
lol thanks for the story!!! You're absolutely right: health is more important than anything right now.
Here's my story: Why i kept thinking about it was a stroll down memory lane. Looking through some old photos of me in Haiti for like 3 months my skin was glowing. I saw another batch of a week long trip back there and i didnt look half as good. My three month visit there meant i was not eating ANY processed food...we bought groceries everyday just enough to cook for the day! And can I tell you my skin looked like newborn baby skin! Yeah I had that beautiful tan when I went away for that week long visit but my skin looked patchy and just not cute!
My skin tells me everything I need to know about what's going on with me (you can tell if I havent washed my hair in longer than a week cuz i get itty bitty pimples all around my temple that disappear right after a wash lol)
Oh and I'm taking TerraD's advice and writing down everything that I put into my mouth. HUGE difference in food intake now!
Living in NYC walking is not a problem...all i can do is walk especially if the bus is late lol...
And thanks its nice to know that i have support!

Ladies I have been MIA!!! I've been in so much pain (my foot). I put shoes on on Saturday very bad idea...too early.
But I'm better now! Happy for some unknown reason! You know those types of days!
Well I didnt have the energy to DC yesterday but I did manage to wash my hair via the sink. Can I tell you all how much I love the HE HH!!! love it!!
I did a twist out. I love my twist out! I wish I could have worn it completely out but i hate that the part down the middle shows so I will try parting my hair at an angle next time
I look so cute with all the little curls! It sucks cuz i wanna show the world my hair and im still stuck in doors!
i love that i love my hair!
I wanna post a pic but my camera has gone missing here's a photobooth that just doesnt do my hair justice!

I can tell that it looks great! Give us more details on how you did it; products, etc. Please . I use photobooth as well, and it's not as clear as a digital camera. I need to join the current decade and get one!

Re: Winnielours
aww thank you ladies!!!!!
and yes im feeling phenomenal denise! thanks!
Here's what I did:
I co-washed and detangled with the HE HH
After I rinsed out the HH I saturated my hair with Aussie Moist as my styling leave in--> I think my hair turned out better cuz I applied the aussie moist evenly and while my hair is still pretty wet. Usually I apply it to the individual strand and then twist and by the time I get to the front of my head my hair is bone dry and I have to rewet it.
Since my hair already had the aussie moist in it all i had to do was seal with the whipped shea--> i applied it to each section individually then two strand twisted. and used extra to finger curl the ends--> thats why i dont need the rollers...
i do about 10 twists on each side give or take.
But I have to wear the satin cap because of the ends.
That's all, this is def my go to style since I can do it in under a half hour and it lasts all week with buns and ponys toward the end of the week
Oh and here's today's hair!

Re: Winnielours
Hello Hello Hello Everyone! i have been MIA for the past month now!
It has just been such a stressful month here's why:
my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer
i am sure most of you have heard what happened in haiti
well we just found out that my grandmother's cancer can be cured with surgery! thank you GOD!
i lost a few members of my family in the earthquake but thank God a majority are okay and some are making their way back to the states. others are trying to remain calm in haiti despite all that has happened.
I am definitely feeling more alive than i ever have in my life...so much of what i have i take for granted. Feeling like your days with someone you love are numbered makes you reevaluate all those things you've given priority in your life. Have family taken away from you in a split second just makes you realize just how fragile life is and why you must live for both today and tomorrow. but i have almost forgot the importance of today and now by focusing so much on tomorrow I didnt realize that it was not promised!
So I am back now ladies and i have a new lease on life! I am surrounding myself with love and family and friends because regardless of what tomorrow brings I do not want today to be taken for granted!
I AM TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!
Updates on my hair coming very soon...

Yes, we should all remember our days are not promised. I am sorry for your losses. Thank God your grandmother's cancer can be taken care of with surgery.

My prayers for you and yours are constant. I can't imagine how you must feel. I am a cancer survivor and all I needed was surgery..be strong for grandma, she will need you.
Re: Winnielours
Thank you so much ladies!!! It's been tough but things are getting better. Some of my friends and family have been fortunate enough to be able to make it to the States...so yay!! But the ones still there need all the prayers you all can give!

Re: Winnielours
So hair update!!
I got my hair done about a week ago for my mother's birthday...i wanted to surprise her....and boy was she!
First off she had no idea i was coming! We had a ball...took her out to dinner and spent three days together just being mother and daughter, shopping and what not.
Oh I also had the stylist cut my hair in layers...we'll see what that translates into for my twists out..
My mom was just as surprised as everyone when she saw how long my hair had
grown. I was about shoulder length this summer after i cut it and now i
am almost bra strap length in the back! YAY!
I must be doing something right! But you know i have gotten real lazy and I have yet to wash my hair....i know im terrible! but the easy of just brushing my hair out in the morning is just so alluring. But I desperately miss my curls, I think I will wash sometime this week.
Here are some pics:(i left my camera at my mom's so i had to take some with photobooth)
Talk you soon ladies!
