Eco Styler Gel
Which eco styler gel gives you the same looks as KCCC with a reduced price? I went to the BSS and there were several to choose from. I didn't know whether to go with the clear one or the brown one? They didn't carry the green (olive oil) one.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Which Eco Styler Gel
The clear one does it for me. Note: I've only had KCCC in my hair once. Eco styler gel's crunch was much easier to crunch out than KCCC for me.
Re: Eco Styler Gel
The clear one gives me great results. I have 4a/b hair, (with a little 3c on the sides to make me crazy). It's great for wash 'n gos. The trick is not to use as much as you would with the Kinky curly. Make sure your hair is wet, and loaded with conditioner and then rake it in section by section a little at a time.
Re: Eco Styler Gel
I use the Green (Olive Oil) one. Although I have a TWA and still trying to find my niche...I prefer the ECO Styling Gel to Miss Jessie's Quick Curls! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Eco Styler Gel
i use the ecostyler clear. it replaced kccc for me. i totally agree with you on eco's crunch being easier to crunch out than kccc. this blew my mind. i've tried the brown, olive and pink ecostyler gels. none of them touch the pink for my wash n go styles. however, they work great for twists styles.

I'm not having much luck with the Eco Styler (the Olive Oil) one
Do you ladies put anything under it?

Re: Eco Styler Gel
I leave a little of the Herbal Essence Hello Hydration under mine. I use the clear eco. I also use a spray that I have made - which consists of olive oil- jojoba oil- and peppermint oil- supposed to promote growth.

I didn't have luck with the clear Eco. I tried several different options and it just would not work for me or my children. I threw away the whole jar.

oh lexi! you could have probably swapped it on the product swap thread for something else. Thats how I got my kinky curly custard. I swapped my organix conditioner and shampoo that did not work for me for it.

Re: Eco Styler Gel
I have the green one and wasn't fond of the crunchy results. I am trying to stick to more natural products anyway so I guess I will leave it alone lol.
Re: Eco Styler Gel
I have the green one. I searched high and low to find a gel that defined my undefinable curls and this one did it and did it well.
Re: Eco Styler Gel
I like the clear and brown one..I have not tried the green or blue one but I always use leave in and castor oil on the bottom of the gels.

I also bought the yellow one (thinking it was the olive oil version, stupid me~ I should have read the label) and it leaves my hair extra extra EXTRA crunchy... I'm not sure if I'm using too much or maybe I should mix it with something else? I only use it after putting on a leave-in conditioner. It also gives me little flakes. For now its sitting on the bottom of my book shelf... until I figure out how to use it properly or swap it for something else. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Eco Styler Gel
I would say to use the clear one. I was only able to find the Olive Oil EcoStyler Gel (green) at Sally's Beauty Supply Store.
After hearing many reviews about EcoStyler gel, I tried the clear and green gels, and both gels left my hair hard and dry. . .so this gel didn't work well for me. . . [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Eco Styler Gel
It must not be meant for me to try it. I have went to several Sally Beauty supplies looking for the green one....NO LUCK ! I'm done searching for it!
Re: Eco Styler Gel
I'm sorry Pink...I always purchased my eco from your local beauty supply store...please believe it will find you lol
Re: Eco Styler Gel
I'm taking it as my cue that I don't need it right now...which i don't! I did pick up Long Aid Activator Gel. I really like it. My hair is SOFT. I can't believe my hair is soft using gel [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ! I did my coils with it.
Re: Eco Styler Gel
The Eco Styler (I had the brown one) made my hair REALLY dry and my little wet coils just shrunk to a dry and frizzy mess. But, I didn't have any type of leave-in or anything on my head, so maybe that was the problem?
What do you all use it for? Two-strand twists? That's about the only style I know how to do myself. lol

I bought the green one, but I haven't used it yet. We shall see. I have 4b/c hair, so I'm not sure what it's gonna do.

hard as rocks!
after so many great review i rushed to sallys to snatch this product.....i used it on my edges, after a little mist of purified water and and ten minutes later it was hard as a rock. i felt like i just put cement in it.....but i gave it another try.....(it's a big jug-didn't wanna waste) and then i had product build up, it began to flake.
so it's a no go for me!......i think its bcuz of the protein in it....guess my hair doesn't like it....also it has TEA(which i hear is a possible carcinogen!)

Re: Eco Styler Gel
Other good options are Aubrey's gel, aloe vera gel and MyGel by Joie. If you decide to try MyGel, it works best on damp and dry hair. They are natural.naturallyKey wrote:after so many great review i rushed to sallys to snatch this product.....i used it on my edges, after a little mist of purified water and and ten minutes later it was hard as a rock. i felt like i just put cement in it.....but i gave it another try.....(it's a big jug-didn't wanna waste) and then i had product build up, it began to flake.

Did you have any moisturizer or product in your hair? I always wear a leave in under. If willing to try again, you may want to try.
