Dominican Blow Outs
Does anyone know of a stylist or salon that does Dominican blow outs in
Dallas, TX? I would like to get my hair trimmed but I don't want to flat
iron it, I made a vow to myself to not use a flat iron anymore so
instead I would like to get a Dominican blow out. Thanks in advance
ladies!

Re: Dominican Blow Outs
I've never had a Dominican blow out, but I used to ALWAYS wear my hair straight and I went to this salon because most of her clients are naturals who wear straight hair. The salon is in Irving (it may have moved since I stopped going).

I know there is someone there who does DBO. Again, I've never had it done, but based on how she took care of my hair I would trust them.
Good Luck! Let us know how that goes. I've alway considered getting one, but I cant justify the cost. LOL

Thanks Raytay I will research the salon and keep everyone informed of the results if I decide to go with that salon.

Watch out for that dominican blow dryer heat!! Those things are super hot and can alter your curl pattern if protective measures aren't taken.

You can do it yourself with a little practice. There is a video on youtube that gives details on how to do it. Or you could get a close friend to learn how or see if your current stylist is willing.
Here's the link to the video

I found it very helpful :-)

With the amount of heat they use (extremely hot blow dryer) and pulling and tugging, I'd prefer a flat-iron any day!

as I said, there are many ways to do a dbo. just like using a flat iron can be unhealthy.
If you look at the video you will see what I'm talking about. I had a dbo by a Dominican and one by a non Dominican. non Dominican was not a lot of heat and not a lot of pulling.
That's all I'm saying. And as far as the flat iron, it has messed up my natural curls in the past. made them wavy instead of curly in the places I flat ironed the most which was the front.
I'm just saying...

Re: Dominican Blow Outs
Hi Curl-gurl, at our last meetup in Dallas, I think Cassandra mentioned a lady in Southlake (I think..,) so check with her and see if she still has her info...
I'm personnaly scared of the amount of heat used....But her hair did not seem to have heat damage...
