Coconut, olive and avacado oils can penetrate the cuticle and add some moisture to the hair. These are common oils that you cn get from the grocery store.

my 3c/4a hair rejects coconut oil and olive oil the most. So I had to develop a mix. I use the Indian coconut oil(has vitmain e added to it), JBCO in extra dark, amla oil, shea oil and avocado oil mixed in an applicator bottle, I shake it up and apply. I also use conditioners with either olive oil in it or coconut oil in it so I can force feed it to my hair. My hair is so difficult, but I do see the benefits of making my hair take the oilve oil and coconut oil along with jbco

I haven't really experimented with a lot of oils, but I do like coconut oil and sweet almond oil. They seem to work the best for me at the moment. I use the coconut oil to seal in moisture and the sweet almond for deep conditioner mixes and some times as a body oil (its a little heavier than coconut oil). Hope that helps!
