Spray bottle mixes
Hey curlies!
I've been natural for 4 months. I believe I have 3C/4A hair. I have a TWA and a lot of shrinkage!
I'm still testing out products, but I was wondering if anyone had any spray bottle mixes that they would like to share that could possibly help me out with the dryness and shrinkage...Anything would help.
Thanks!

I don't use a spray bottle right not but I will probably need one soon. Most people use a mixture of oil, conditioner and water.

Re: Spray bottle mixes
my spray bottle has HEHH conditioner, olive oil and coconut oil. If you have it you can add a couple drops of essential oil to your mix
make sure you shake up the bottle before you use it though cause water and oil dont mix

@cupcake4...You can get coconut oil from Whole Foods or any health food store like Vitamin Shoppe or GNC. Also some Wal-Marts sell it in the vitamin/nutritional section of the store. Make sure its Organic/Extra Virgin & Unrefined. HTH

@ cupcake do you use any products like a gel/mousse? I havent done a wash-n-go in a while but i remember having really defined stretched curls when i mixed my gel with honey. You could also mix a butter in like shea butter.
Try it out and let me know

Re: Spray bottle mixes
Well I have 3 different spray bottles (I know! PJ!). In on is Organix Shea Butter condish, water & EVOO; the 2nd is Suave Naturals and water & the other is just water. I'm trying to find a good balance for my hair.
Re: Spray bottle mixes
y would u put a condish in ur spray bottle w/ all this other stuff and some ppl don't even use a leave-in in their spray bottle....don't u have to wash this stuff out ur head? wouldn't it cause build-up???

Re: Spray bottle mixes
I put it in there b/c I don't have a staple leave in. You wash it outta your head when you wash your hair. It moisturizes your hair in between washes. And my spray bottle doesn't leave build up b/c I've mixed it so well.Indidiiamond wrote:y would u put a condish in ur spray bottle w/ all this other stuff and some ppl don't even use a leave-in in their spray bottle....don't u have to wash this stuff out ur head? wouldn't it cause build-up???

Re: Spray bottle mixes
Being that I have a shopping problem, I use cheaper (but really good products) for my hair. I use Suave clarifying shampoo which I use once every month or once every two months. My hair really doesn't get too much build up because I don't use too many products.Indidiiamond wrote:O OK AND DO U ALWAYS HAVE TO HAVE A CLARIFYING SHAMPOO?? Re: Spray bottle mixes
I was wondering- would it be okay to use coconut elmulision instead of coconut oil? I can't seem to find any, and that was the closest I could get......
and another question, I've been wearing my hair in braids ever since transitioning to grow my fro out before I was comfortable with the length, and it's always time consuming to oil every little part in my hair, and I was wondering- is there a product I can buy OR make at home that will oil my hair quicker? thanks!

Re: Spray bottle mixes
I like to mix a leave in condish, some water and oil(like fx. jojoba, argan, coconut, olive, almond oil).
But i also think that it works great to mix some oil, aloe vera and water together.
And if u want can u also try to mix a little bit sheabutter in it, i really like that.
