Different types of hair in my head????

As I'm learning about natural hair and all that goes into keeping it healthy (which I love!!!) I think I have different types of hair in my head. Like the hair in the back of my head is curly but the hair in the front of my hair is wavy....... anyone else notice this? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

YESSSS!! I thought I was the only one hehe! My hair in the back is very soft and kinda curly at times but towards the front it is very thick and sometimes crazy and unpredictable. I think that we all deal with this at times

You're not alone. I think there are a lot of women with up to 3 different textures on their head. I have very loose ringlets in the back hang bone straight when wet in the shower. Everywhere else I have coils of all different sizes but none as loose as those in the back.

I want to wear a curly bang but one side has super tight curls that shrink like crazy and the other side is much looser what the heck am I supposed to do with that?

i too noticed this; when i big chopped the second time it was near bald so i see my hair changing all the time in the beginning i had hairs that were forming coils while others where sticking straight up recently i looked in the mirror for a while sitting on the sink and saw that the hairs that were bone straight are now bending to form big curls and the hair at the nape of my neck has looser coils also but not as loose as the ones that are forming from the straight hairs

Absolutely! My hair is mostly 4a, with tighter 4b in the back, and 3c on the side to make me crazy! That's why I like wearing twistouts so much. It tend to hide all of the textures...

To look at my hair it all looks the same texture. However, I have this soft, fluffy stuff in the back that WILL NOT keep a two strand twist in it. I don't quite have a TWA anymore and anytime it gets wet it untwists and I have to retwist it nightly. Sheesh!

Thaks ladies.... I thought I was going crazy!! When my hair grows out more I'll just have to figure out styles to incorporate both textures.

It's not unusual for curlies to have more than one curl pattern or texture on their heads. I have noticed that I have three different curl patterns on mine. The back of my hair is cottony and really doesn't have much of a curl pattern. The crown has a loose curl. And near my hairline, I have pen spring coils.

I have 3 different textures also. It's interesting to see a product respond well in one part and not so well in another. My biggest challenge has been searching for a product that gives me the same response all over. It has been a slow but insightful journey.
