Please help my dry, itchy scalp!
Even though you can't tell by looking at my avatar, I big chopped 5 months ago. However, the last 3 weeks or so I have been experiencing a very dry, irritated scalp. Can anyone who has experienced this please give me a remedy that worked for them? I'm about to scratch myself bald!

I experience an itchy scalp from time to time and when I shampoo I use Giovanni TTT shampoo. In the past I've added both tea tree and peppermint oils to my products and have found relief from ACV rinses too.

Oh, I had the itchies REALLY bad earlier this week (complete with some flakes [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]). I just washed it with my SheaMoisture shampoo and then DC'd with my conditioner and some Raw Honey and EVOO. My scalp has been feeling great since. Maybe you just need a good wash? I'll also agree with peppermint shampoos (plus you get that nice cool tingly feeliing

sometimes i fight the itchies too. this week has been a good week so far though. i co washed with trader joe's nourish conditioner, and added some olive oil and water to it. before that i did a pre poo (overnight) with grape seed oil and water. and after that i sealed with grape seed oil and water.
but i think the main thing that stopped the itchies this week is i didn't let the water get too hot while i washed out hte conditioner, just luke warm at first. then i rinsed for a very long time, and slowly turned the water to really cold while i rinsed. i think inflammation causes itching, and sometimes coldness can calm that down.
