Good Luck on your protective style challenge... I may try also, I know it will do me some good. Being natural affords you so many choices.

Love your challenge! Good luck! I guess I'm doing the same thing currently by doing my wig regimen for the duration of the BNB challenge. Too bad I'm not on facebook, because I would want "in" too!

How do you do your henna gloss? amount of henna? shampoo? duration? DC after or before?
Thanks Chrs
Ok the first time I glossed I used my leftover henna mix from my first time doing henna and added store brand HE HH, VO5, honey and olive oil. I didn't measure anything. I didn't wash my hair I rinsed my hair then applied the gloss. I put a plastic cap and towel and scarf (because it was very watery) I only left it on one hour because it was almost 10pm. I rinsed and washed and conditioned with giovanni. Put on a plastic cap with giovanni for 30 minutes. Rinsed and moisturized with shea butter, Curls whipped moisturizer and castor oil to seal.
The second time I glossed. I mixed 2 boxes of jamila henna (i was doing mine and my sis and she has a lot of hair). With 2 ounces on of lemon juice and 16 ounces of water. Let it sit for one day (until i applied to my sis hair. it was 3 days before i applied to my hair) On the day of application i added the last of my store brand He HH and 1/2 cup olive oil. I did not wash or rinse my hair this time. I let it sit on my hair for 2 hours and and rinsed and co washed with Suave naturals coconut and DC'ed with EO Lavendar conditioner for 1 hour. Rinsed applied castor oil and Giovanni Direct Leave in.

Thanks for the henna gloss information. I have a bit of henna left from my last treatment. I plan to use it next week.

Thats the ledge in the shower. 3 body washes, veggie glycerin, and one conditioner and shampoo..lol that's no where near all of it. I did visit the no buy thread and I don't have that much stuff and to my defense there are 2 naturals in my house..lol
Mom's Bantu Knots
My mom wanted her hair curled. I didn't want to so I decided to do bantu knots. When she came over her hair was dry. So on her relaxed hair I put on Giovanni Direct Leave In, shea butter and almond oil. I put castor oil on her scalp because she has an itchy scalp. Castor oil, lavender oil and tea tree oil.
I applied Garnier Fructis Length & Strength Leave In on each section before I coiled the bantu knot.
I will add results on tomorrow.

Your twist look really good. I am gonna try smaller twist one day and see how long they will last.

Thanks Lynnie. Actually I am thinking about cutting it all again because it is so far behind the rest. Maybe about 2 inches. I don't know. I will just play it by ear.

Thanks Sweet!! Hopefully they survive the night. I had to take one down to redo and it already had a pretty curl. I just hope they arent too tight but if they are it should last her a few days. It only took 15 minutes to do. So I probably could wash condition and style her in under 2 hours. Which is great for me. lol

I think you did a good job on your twists and your mom's hair as well. Love the new avatar too.
