INEXPENSIVE HEAT PROTECTANT
I'm thinking about straightening my hair. Does anyone have any suggestions or product reviews?
Re: INEXPENSIVE HEAT PROTECTANT
If you're looking for affordability, then you can pretty much go to any store and pick up a cheap heat protectant, but of course most are filled with non-water-soluble 'cones, and it's very hard to find a heat protectant without them ('cones are actually the ingredient that serves for heat protection). I've heard good things about FHI Hot Sauce (which you can get at Sally's) and CHI Silk infusion (but there's some debate as to whether this is actually a heat protectant), but both of those aren't cheap. The only heat protectant I've seen with a water-soluble 'cone is the Abba Pure Thermal Protectant spray, but that's definitely not cheap. I haven't applied heat to my hair yet (and I'm avoiding it like the plague), so I don't have any personal experience, but whatever heat protectant you get, make sure it has a silicone and some proteins (since your hair looses proteins so easily, especially with high-manipulation styles like straightening).

Re: INEXPENSIVE HEAT PROTECTANT
NikkiMae2003 on youtube used grape seed oil as her heat protectant in her blowout video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbnqY0rWDxA
I guess it could be used for straightening too. I'm not sure how much it costs though.
