Buttercup76 ~ Updating...

Well I did the twist challenge and enjoyed it so much that now I guess I will do the journal. Saturday June 12th (my birthday) is the one year anniversary of my last relaxer. I waited 8 weeks and did my big chop. I probably only had a little under 1/2 inch of hair on my head. Anywhoo... it has been a journey this past year. My hair has grown and I have seen hair loss due to stress so I have had to cut it a couple of times but so far right now it is growing again. During the 6 week twist challenge I really started perfecting my 2 strand twist. So I have continued to twist. I am not a fan of my WnG yet because I am sooo frizzy and get sooo tangled. Well to start off here are a few pics of where I have been and the present...

Hey Buttercup! You are one of the few people who bc'd so short like me! I think Nubie also got pretty close. While I hated mine the first day or 2, I grew to love it. I think yours was beautiful right from the start and you've had some amazing growth. It seems like your hair is back to the length it was before your bc? Maybe longer? I bet the twist out is lovely, I would like to see a picture of your twist out because I've been thinking about getting a bob cut once mine grows out a bit more. Anywho- welcome to curl street. BTW... Last week I shampoo'd and Condished with Giovanni Products I got from TJ Maxx..(Thanks Mahogany Knots from Youtube) I used Afroveda Hempseed Loc, Twist, and Roll butter. I have been using that for months now to do my twist.

So I have been rocking my twist out for about 4 days and this morning I get up and get myself together get dress and proceed to do my hair... I pick up my trusty water bottle and start spaying my hair to refresh the look....

UUUGGGHHH.... What do I smell..... BLEACH......
My two children replaced the water in my water bottle with bleach. They had the great idea yesterday to bleach a pair of old jeans.... But use MY water bottle. The same bottle that I use on their hair....

Once I realized that it was bleach I immediately turned on the faucet in the tub and submerged my hair.... I didn't even want to look and see what kind of damage I may have caused.... added a bit of shampoo and conditioned thoroughly... I was so scared to look in the mirror at this point.... Or at least take the towel off my hair.... My Blue work shirt was destroyed by the bleach dripping on it. I was surprised to see that there was no damage to my hair... I investigated thoroughly.... This is why I hate when school is out and my 13 and 9 year old have to sit in the house alone... Can't wait for Monday.... CAMP!!!!!

@TheRYL1... Girl they are lucky.... They spent the night away.... I don't mean any harm but it would have been straight Mommy Dearest in my house this morning.... ***Remembering the No Wire Hangers" scene.....
