Thanks ladies. Another walgreens 99 cent special.... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I am kind of upset because my youngest decided he doesn't want to nap today and I have been outside all day in the backyard with both boys. So no twists yet, which means I will be twisting tonight. grrrrr (sigh) motherhood [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
Hey ya'll everything is good, tomorrow will be a week. Halfway point ! I decided to keep them in through the weekend , I will twist out on Monday, I have a shopping date with my girlfriend. And I really just wanna flaunt my for while I'm out. I work from home, so it really doesn't matter if I have twist in during the week. This set is smaller and should hold up for me. So I think I will just add some baking soda to some conditioner and cleanse my scalp and go through and lock in moisture with oil and Jane Carter Nourish and Shine.
I'm excited about being at the half way point, this is my first hair style challenge

@naturalhonney, Zuri had a steaming like my hair. It felt great! Your makeup looks great!
@CurlsGalore, you always look so beautiful! I love your makeup. I am trying to get where you are. You do not have to keep up with us, you are doing the thang lady!
@jcanalena, I picked up the necklace at Burlington Coat Factory.
Thanks so much, ChrsLvsBks!
Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
Thanks NylaCoils for the suggestion to check out the entries from Summyr1988 twist contest. I found a style I think I can do.

Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
Took my twists out ... they were just looking very fuzzy, esp the flat twists and I couldn't go into work like that. Low manipulation - simply untwisted and left as is. When I came home I just put it up in a high bun before preparing dinner and will probably leave it like that until Sat. evening when I have to prepare for a formal event. Here's the twistout:

Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
Jc that is beautiful!!!!
LET ME JUST PREFACE THESE PICS BY SAYING I AM A DOUBLE STRAND FLAT TWIST CURLY AND I WILL NEVER DO THIS 2 STRAND TWISTS AGAIN. I APPRECIATE EVERY CURLY ON HERE THAT DOES THIS STYLE AND YOU ALL LOOK BEAUTIFUL. BUT AS FOR IB, THIS IS A NO-NO.

Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
I tie my twist down with a scarf and put my bonnet on top of that for backup. Try pinning them up in a style and see if you like them better. I think they look good.

Thanks for the compliment.
LOL @ your preface, however, there are two things I learned. For mine to look closer to my kind of 'style', smaller is better. You may want to do that initially, then when you have more time, seperate each of those twists into 4 more twists ... kind of like mini-twists. I think mini-twists may allow you to be more creative with your styling and get a look that feels more 'you' to you. Until then, I agree with Lynnie ... pin-up ... I did that all of those week until I took mine down. You could also combine flat twists in front with smaller two-strand twists in the back. For the record, you did a great job with the twists!! Btw, been loving all these pics! I have been lurking. lol
I did the sister twist method (twist one clockwise, other count clockwise) then twist around each other
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Last time I did the sister twists was for Halloween 2009, and added beads, I see major growth, I will probably come back to post the older pictures.
But anyway on to what I used, Bee mine curly butter and luscious moisturizer, omg, can you say amazing! Seriously!!! I'm not sure if anyone has used it on their twists but deeeeeefinitely look into it. I am very impressed. I also used the spirtz when I was done, I love it all together. Review soon but I had to go ahead and share!
Nik, I've always been in awe of your skills w/ A's hair ... this is no exception - GORGEOUS!!! You inspire me to do better with my daughter's hair.

Thanks ladies!!! I was actually taken aback by the definition. I think the smaller size combined with flat twisting are really the way to go on this.

Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
Thank LYNN and Jc. I think you are right about the smaller twists. But I think I may have tot put this style on the shelf until my hair gets longer. The shrinkage is too much and the style is just unflattering on me. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

IB - I have to agree with everyone else- you would like them if you did them smaller
Here are mine smaller.

Plus once you do them smaller the twist out is amazing. Here is my best twist out ever.

Also this is how i stretched my hair each night.

I twisted my hair yesterday and it certainly grew! It usually takes me an hour to twist, and yesterday I was in the mirror for TWO hours! I can't believe it. Afterwards I slapped a headband on it and went out in the sun. Some guy asked me if I was Jamacian too and my other naturally curly friend said it was my hair. lol
