Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
I'm wearing a braid out today (my weekend starts on Thursday, wash on Saturday) and I have a question. Why does my head itch while in protective style but not in an out style? I'm constantly rubbing my head when in braids or twists, but not while wearing my fro. And I haven't been wearing my wigs, I've been braiding and wearing headbands.
~Thanks

Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
@lumii, May 30 is the challenge end date.
@Alanija, if you figure it out let us know. We think it could be to less manipulation of the hair, shed hairs not being able to be shed regularly, weather, growing, etc. I have a spritz made from strong tea (2 teabags to one cup of water), aloe vera gel and EOs of peppermint, rosemary and tea tree.

Nothing new over here. Still wearing my twists and moisturizing twice daily. I love not having to do my hair [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

ChrsLvsBks wrote:@IB, about the progress, I was referring to you liking the smaller two strand twists better this time than your first time. I thought you wrote you did not like them as much as your flat twists. If I am wrong, my apologies [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] .
Pretty pin up CurlieCutes!
@sweet, I would love to see her live and in living color.
I helped my company by taking pictures of the 18 groups at a golf event. The weather was picture perfect. I mean really it was. I took a lot of pictures to prove it, LOL.
For today's hair, I loosely twisted the front section and pinned. I brought the loose portion of the four flat twists from each side to the middle. I then took the top half (including the twists from the sides) and wrapped a twist around it securing it with a bobby pin. I repeated for the bottom. I then tucked in the ends and pinned. I am thinking of wearing a twist-hawk to a wedding I am attending Mother's Day evening.

hey chrs, no apologies necessary. I though you were talking about hair progress. I was getting excited............. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] . But yes, I hope I like the smaller ones better. I don't necessarily like the flat twists more. I just feel with the flat twist there is less manipulation of the hair and less time consuming. LOVE THE HAIR IN THE PICS, BTW. LOVE IT!!!

Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
Karyn I feel the same way you do - most of the time! I love that I don't have to do my hair everyday but I miss playing in my hair as well
But I am loving the benefits of this challenge so I'm excited to continue for the next 3 weeks! I tried a new style and this video is what inspired it.
Here is my interpretation:

Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
Hey ya'll
Tomorrow will be day 5 for my twist with KCCC and believe it or not they are still moisturized, I have not added anything to my twist ! I have only been using my oil fee spritz on my scalp to keep my scalp feeling wonderful that's it. I would highly recommend and I will try this again. Def a keeper for summer twist. I think if I use it weekly with my oil free scalp spritz I can probably go without washing with Come Clean every week in the summer, I can co wash with Vo5 instead. The KCCC is so funny when it comes to other products. But I heard that V05 works just as well as Knot today. So it should be cool for me to co wash with. I will still use the Knot Today as my base and twist with the KCCC. But I am still hatching out my game plan for the summer, def will be rocking my twist mostly this summer, I have way less breakage, it's amazing.

Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
You ladies have inspired me to put some small twist back into my hair. I'm styling challenged, so hopefully I'll figure out some cute way to pin these up to my liking
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
To create, I washed hair yesterday and did chunky twist w/ a blend of castor and moroccanoil. Then today on dry hair, I retwisted smaller. LOVE how the Moroccanoil makes my hair feel.

You hair looks fab, can you tell me how you use the castor/morrocanoil blend ? Did you damp your hair to retwist smaller, I can't believe you only used castor/morrcan oil and no butter for your twist !
I am looking for a blend to twist with for the summer, that will be heavy enough to coat my hair but light as well, I really don't want to do cream base butters.
Also, I read that the morocanoil has cones in it ? does this effect your hair any, just curious.

Today I think I will do a twist out and post pictures because my twist are unraveling. Do any of you un do your twist with wet hair? I think I might have to because I already did my cowash and my hair takes forever to dry.

Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
I am noticing that I have an increase of SSKs when I wear twists for an extended amount of time. This happened to me back in January. Is anyone else noticing this?
