I been seeing that alot of people on youtube use saran wrap after they have set their hair. I was wondering why do it and what does it do for your hair?

I use saran wrap to set my hair after I do a roller set. It's makes the hair smoother and straighter without having to use a flat iron.

interesting do you have to sit under a dryer? also for some of the videos i saw their hair also looked a bit more shiny. Does it add more shine?

It seems like it would make you sweat the curls out but apparently some other miracle happens under there! I can't wait to try it!

Yes, it does offer great shine and yes you have sit under a dryer. My initial set with rollers take about 1 hr. Once that's done I unroll and wrap the hair - I apply a little oil first, then wrap and apply saran wrap - back under the dryer for about 15 minutes.

You have nice, sleek, smooth, shiny, bouncy hair.

Thats what i would think. lol but I guess so because once that wrap comes off the hair is so straight and shiny.

@BlondeByDesire: thanks for responding. I cant wait till I get some more length so I can try it. Idk if you have any picture but i would love to see how the finished product looks.

Have you seen MahoganyCurls tutorial on it? I don't get why it doesn't sweat out, but I do see that it works. I wonder if it will work on 4a/b hair?

I wonder the same thing Jackie because that's what I have. I saw MC's tutorial and it certainly made me want to try it. In fact, I plan to some time next week.

I want to try that one weekend I'm not too lazy and lounging around. It takes so long to cowash and style my hair. It's a process for this transitioner. Hopefully when I do the BC it will save me some time.
