Black Don't Crack!!!
Hello Ladies!
I just had to share what happened at work. Yesterday, I was chatting in the breakroom with a white female coworker about the snow and blah, blah, blah, ha, ha, ha. There was another white female coworker at the sink close by. Somehow I mentioned my age (31) and both of their mouths dropped. The lady I was speaking to (who's in her 40s) says [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "You don't look 31. I thought you were like 24/25!!" Well I was so flattered, I darn near kissed her in the mouth!! LOL!!
The girl at the sink says "Yeah, I didn't know you were MY AGE!! I thought you were younger then me!" Well she almost got a smooch too.
Today, my aisle mates and I were talking and the new girl who sits next to me asked me my age and I told her, 31. She thought I was in my mid 20s too. I was again flattered, but not so inclined to kiss her [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] .
Okay so dig this!!! My white friend (she's more than a coworker, I actually consider her a friend) goes and asks the new girl "Well how old do you think I am?" Now, I am a firm believer that you never ask a question that you might not like the answer to. This rule especially applies to personal appearance.
I sat there and waited for New Girl's response. "Ummm, like 38?"
OHHHH LAWWWDD, why she go say DAT!!!!???
My friend looked at New Girl in horror. "I'm 33!!!!!" [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] . New Girl felt bad and tried to back peddle. Friend Girl starts making excuses for why she may look older than she really is. "Maybe it's my haircut, I looked younger when my hair was long".
I tried to flee the scene before it got any more awkward. Wow, I felt kinda bad, but....

Re: Black Don't Crack!!!
hahaha Well I'm not black but I would have to agree. Especially since being on this website. I mean there are 40+ year olds who look extra young. I peeped into the 30 and over thread in styling and profiling and no one looked their age!
By the way, you definitely look like you're in your 20's. Looking at your avatar I would have guessed 24.

Re: Black Don't Crack!!!
It gets really crazy for me since I have children that are taller than me at this point. I went to pick them up from an event at church and the usher stood there telling me we couldn't leave without a parent!

My mom used to get really tickled when people would mistake her for my older sister. She'd actually say that she was. LOL.

Re: Black Don't Crack!!!
Prior to BC I was struggling to look 21, now no-one believes that I'm over 18! I went to the shops with my Mom to get some kitchenware for our house and when I picked up some cooking knives and took them to the counter to pay, the lady said "Sorry love, but you have to be over 18 to buy these" Nuff said! A year ago I got carded at the movies.....LOL
Looking at all the "young" ladies on this board has eased all the fears I had about getting older. Now I am working out so that I can feel as young as I look

it is true. the same excessive collagen production that causes some of us to keloid, also prevents premature aging, and slows the process in general!!!! one more reason i am happy to be of African decent!! I'll take keloids over wrinkles any day!!
