How to properly Baggy? Empty How to properly Baggy?

Post by RissaRae 31st January 2010, 1:15 pm

Hello everyone! Does anyone have any advice on how to properly baggy?
Wet hair?
Dry hair?
What products to use?
How to prepare hair before applying the baggy?
Is brushing or combing the hair involved?
If done overnight is wetting/washing the hair necessary the next day?
How often can this be done?

I am just curious how to properly do this procedure because I am trying to obtain a regimen for my hair and hopefully gain some length along the way. I tried the baggy method last night using Carol's Daughter Lisa Elixir & Carol's Daughter Hair Butter to moisturize, Shea Butter to seal the ends. Then I braided the hair into 6 medium sized braids and covered my entire head with a plastic condish cap, followed by a satin scarf and a satin bonnet. This morning my hair is extremely OILY! I don't think I used the proper products or maybe I used to much oil? I would greatly appreciate any advice you all may have. Thanks in advance!

The Healthy Hair Butter alone will make your hair very greasy, it's very concentrated so you only need a little bit (my 4 oz jar has lasted 8 months and is still almost half full). That plus shea butter and the Lisa Elixir was probably an overload. I'm not sure but I think baggying with oils is enough.

When I tried bagging I did it to my ends. I braided my hair, seal with EVOO and covered my ends with sandwich bags, but that's because I was trying to determine whether I had dry ends or split ends (they were feeling crunchy) I'm not sure if I did it "correctly" but I think sticking to oils would be fine.
