[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] So, February is my bun month (personal protective style challenge) I need to find ways to decrease frizzies so I do not need to use lots of ecostyler. I am going to pick up some aloe vera gel, but I've heard good things about the ecostyler with olive oil as well.

Any tips on ways to keep the hair smoothed back would be greatly appreciated! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I smooth it on back with water, shea butter, and a scarf for 15-30mins

I also use water, a moisturizing product like shea butter or conditioner and putting on a scarf for a while, like Tia said, works really well.

Cool Ladies! Thanks. I figure I will have to play around with it, because I am so not going to keep it gel'ed back for the entire month! LOL, I don't like hard, untouchable hair.

Do you use a lot of shea or is a little enough?

For me, a little goes a long way. But that's because oils and heavy products weigh my hair down.

Ditto what jcurl said. Shea is so awesome because it takes so little and that causes it to last a long time

Ok. Thanks ladies! My hair is finer around the outer perimeter and I have also experienced a heaviness from shea when used on my edges. But that may be good for keeping my edges looking smooth for a week at a time (I'm going to try to only do 4 different bun styles next month)! Thanks jamaica and tia!

Another option is a mix of shea and aloe vera gel. Koilsbynature suggested it in another area.

Thanks Chrs, do you know if she whipped them together or just combined them in her palm?
